According to other message boards, there was an article
in the tabloid National Examiner saying DAYS would, or
may, be canceled next year and replaced with a new soap
from Reilly. Did anyone read this article? I guess it
got into the high salary of DAYS stars like Deidre Hall
and how DAYS just isnt as profitable as it once was.
Keep in mind, I'm just reporting what has been posted
elsewhere, I have not seen the tabloid report, and of
course considering the source, this may just be all BS.

Although it certainly is interesting.... the conversation on those other message boards have turned into a debate on how PASSIONS would do without DAYS as a lead-in. Of
course while everyone has a right to their opinion, no matter how delusional they may be, LOL, I am always amazed at how vocal and loyal soap fans could be, PSSNS has a very loyal base much like SUBE had, but with PSSNS it includes a Jim Reilly cult-like following. Its amazing at the lenght people will distance themselves from reality to defend a soap. Some PSSNS fans are insisting DAYS leaving NBC wouldn't hurt PSSNS ratings because DAYS has little to do
with PSSNS "success". Can you imagine? Just last week, I was talking with a 30-something woman I work with who is
thisclose to stop watching Passions, she is sick of the show she once found entertaining, while she isn't happy with the alien stuff on DAYS, she vows to always watch DAYS!
I am certain this is true with other fans of both NBC soaps.
If they had to choose between DAYS and PSSNS, they would choose DAYS. If DAYS leaves NBC, PSSNS would easily drop a full rating point. The ONLY reason why PSSNS is the most successful new NBC soap since SANTA BARBARA is because NBC gave Passions the post-DAYS timeslot. AW survived as long
as it did because it followed DAYS!
