Subject: Devon 2 - Salcombe......46 Plymouth Argaum....24

Evening Herald Report
Argaum have struggled one way or another this season but they showed huge spirit to take the game to second-placed Salcombe.

In the end Salcombe were far too strong, but the forwards at Argaum put on a magnificent display in the second half to come back in to the game.

At the end of the first half Salcombe were 31-7 up, and Argaum might have feared the worst.

Ashley Spencer had scored two tries, and further tries for Salcombe came from King, Rossi, Lidstone, Burleigh, Bastin and Pernowski. Lidstone also added three conversions.

For Argaum, Chris Curnow scored with Steve Tomlinson converting.

After the break Argaum just about had the upper hand with tries by Kevin Quickley, Phil Hall and Steven Barnes, the last of which was converted by Tomlinson.

Argaum secretary Richard Belli was delighted with his team's performance.

Belli said: "Special praise must go to flanker Matt Blakestone who had an outstanding game."
