OK troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. If you haven't had enough of your 1/6th German vehicles this week, then you're in luck! We've got another one, so let's get right to it!
Up for today is our old friend Warriors 1st BN with the next update on his own SDKFZ 250 project. Again, Warriors attention to detail is in prime form as he's added battle damage and all the little nifty details you would expect. Then he ends the shoot with the final product with its first base coat. Once again some excellent work here from our old buddy. Definitely don't miss this one, especially if you own your own 250 and want some customizing ideas :) Special thanks to Warriors for sending this cool new update in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Well guys, I guess that does it for today. One more cool site update left in the week, so definitely be sure to come on back and check it out. Until then... take it lite men.

OK troops, time for the last site update of the week. Just a really small one to finish off with, but cool nonetheless, so let's get right to it!
Wrapping up this week for us is our old friend Zman, back with another one of his cool figure projects. This time, a WWII US Pathfinder Paratrooper from the 82nd at Normandy. Another cool project here from our old friend for sure. Unfortunately, only three photos of him, but definitely enough shots to get a good look at him. So definitely be sure to check him out! Special thanks to Zman for sending another cool project in and letting us have a peek at it. Sharp Salute!

- Another book suggestion an old one, "this is your war" by Ernie Pyle -- alan of the vagabonds, 13:47:51 03/08/13 Fri (static-65-175-137-44.cpe.metrocast.net/65.175.137.44)
Since someone mentioned a book I wanted to mention an old book I ran across.
I'm just finishing reading a book I borrowed from the library that I really thought I should mention. If you haven't heard of of it, "This is your War" by Ernie Pyle I think was written about 1943. As a war corrispondant he tells small stories of life in North Africa during the war. I found several great detials I plan to add into my own Vagabonds tales, but this is just great history to read to try to understand what it was like for those guys.

OK troops, time for the last site update of the week. So let's get right to it!
Wrapping up this week for us is our old friend Alan of the Vagabonds - not with an official Vagabonds episode this time. It seems some benevolent benefactors sent him some female figures that will actually hold weapons. So Alan took a few shots of them to show them off. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of these ladies in the future. Also, Alan has some extra stuff that he plans on giving away. There are also some shots of those goodies included in this shoot as well. Read his text and you'll know about how to get them if you want them. So be sure to take a peek at this new one from our friend and fellow trooper Alan of the Vagabonds. Special thanks to Alan for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

OK troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Sorry it was a bit late, I got held up unexpectedly. Anyway, let's get right to today's cool 1/6th stuff.
Up for today is our old friend Alan of the Vagabonds with his newest Vagabond chapter. In Chapter nine, the Professor is off to a dog sled race, no - not to participate, just to watch. Actually Alan went to a real dog sled race and took his Adventure team themed Joe with him along with his ATV and snapped off a few snow shots. Great stuff! You know me, I always love those snow shots. Then the episode finishes off with some of the Vagabonds back at the base practicing with their newly acquired weaponry. Another cool Vagabonds episode here, so be sure to check it out! Special thanks to Alan of the Vagabonds for sending this new one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

It's still a work in progress, he plans on customizing it but he just wanted to send in a few shots of it in its early stages and share it with us. A great looking vehicle here for sure. Can someone point me in the direction of "more"? Where besides here are the main hubs of what we do? Where else on the web do people visit?
I'm trying to figure out where I should be looking for "more" as I continue to learn the ropes so to speak and take my vagabonds to the next level. I'm trying to learn by watching what everyone does and learning by doing...
Is there an offical name for what we do? Playscale photography? I'm trying to figure out what to even google.
A CAMERA QUESTION: My point and click camera along with some digital basics on my computer offer basics but can someone suggest what a entry *digital* camera would be that would be able to do the "fancies" like blurring the background, manually focusing, and adjusting the shutterspeed to let in more or less light.

Wrapping up this week for us is our old friend Hogie309 with the first part of one of the last episodes he's filmed entitled "On a muddy, frozen road to nowhere", continued from photo set 4615. Here's a bunch of his troops crammed into a couple jeeps, heading to where? They don't know... Is the war about over? Once again, some outstanding photos from Hogie, he just seems to be able to breathe the life into these little people with his photography even when they're not doing much but just riding around in the jeep. So don't miss this cool part one of "On a muddy frozen road to nowhere." Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending in this cool shoot and sharing it with all of us. Sharp Salute!

Yep, it's that time of the year again, for the Mini Model Engineering Show at EnterTRAINment Junction, in West Chester Ohio, March 9 & 10, 2013.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y156/GunShy2005/ETJ2013/ETJ2013002_zpsd95e4fd8.jpg
The Model Show is FREE to the public, same with the Hobby Shop in the main Mall area, regular admission to go into the train museum and fun house if you choose to do so.
Food and drink is can be had right in the middle of the show floor out in the West Chester Station area.
Link for more data provided below ...

I hope to webcast LIVE on GunShyCCTV on Ustream again as I have the past years, if perhaps only for a half hour to a full hour on both days of the show, I'm think 2 or 3 PM EST each day, but I will announce the targeted time after I do a few tests, and see what will be of the most interest there. Things get crazy with LIVE programs, and to keep things sane, I will post the actual LIVE webcast link in the Barracks Section of the Sixth Division on the days of the Show, as it can take a great deal of time to hit all of the forums at once with updating posts. No slight to any of the other forums, note I will post all of the pictures and extra videos in many forums when the show is done, it's just I have learned to keep things simple during the times of the actual broadcasting. As an upgrade to doing things this year, I hope to be able to roam the whole show floor live, and not be tethered by any cords, but testing will still have to be done.
You can see some of the past reports of the prior shows here on my GunShyCCTV pages at Ustream.
http://www.ustream.tv/new#/new/search?q=gunshycctv
http://www.ustream.tv/new#/recorded/21045168
My little shows are not "High Art", just fun little reports about the hobby, but I promise that those that show their work at these shows and let me bring it to you, its in that you will see some real art in 1/6!!
Stay Tuned, GunShyCCTV is on the move again.
Hope to see you at ETJ, March 9 & 10, 2013.

I want spring! We have sled dog races this weekend here. If anyone is interested it's this fri sat and sun in Laconia NH. I think it's start finish line is accross from the old state school/ prison on rt 106 in Laconia NH.
I've been able to do a bit of stitching up my guys uniforms but I really want to get out and do some outdoor photos. I'm trying to convince myself to do a side story that happens in the French resistance in the snow but I really don't like being outside in the white stuff at all. Moreover I can't use my bicycle in the ice and snow to do my messenger duties for my work. I think part of me wants to really be in Tunisia sometimes! Well, maybe not but at least that the fall and spring in New Hampshire took a bit more of a bite out of winter.
Great news all I got the fuzzy head with fuzzy beard and put it on my guy with the duck tape around the head post. He's going to be the Professor, a man of action and adventure that will end up with my Vagabonds. My story around him is that he's an inventor and archeoligist. Captured and escaped from the Germans. He will give me an excuse for a few modern slip ins as they are his 'inventions' and prototypes. Plus he will be Harriet's hubby that's been missing. Hopefully it will all make sense as I get back to spring photo shoots.
Maybe the professor should go get some research photos at the dog sled races this weekend. Anyone living in NH and going or a huge fan of that stuff and actually coming here?

OK troops, time for the first site update of the week. Sorry about nothing yesterday, but I've been having some serious local internet "connectivity" problems - and the board seems to be going up and down as well. It looks like it's going to be one of those weeks :) Anyway, let's get right to today's update.
Starting off this week for us is our old friend Pvt. Mel with the second half of part five of his "France, 1944" series. More combat action in this one. Once again, more great poses and scenes. Mel sure knows how to do some cool indoor shoots, that's for sure! I guess I'd better make this brief in case my internet goes down again and just say - definitely be sure to check this one out! More great stuff from Mel, without a doubt. Special thanks to Pvt. Mel for sending this cool new installment in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Well guys, that's it for today. I do believe the bin is completely empty at the moment, so I'm not really sure how the rest of this week will flesh out but as you know, if I do have anything, I'll surely be posting it for everyone. If this dang local connection problems cuts me some slack that is. So I guess come on back tomorrow regular time and check and see. Until then... take it lite men.
Sharp Salute!

OK troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. So let's get right to it!
Up for today is our old friend Pvt. Mel. He's back with part five of his cool France, 1944 series. This was a pretty big installment so I cut it in half, so this is only part one (the first half of part five) so you'll have to wait a bit longer to see the conclusion of this one! It looks like there's a battle scene going on in this installment as the Germans and Americans face off. As always, more cool photos here from Mel, so definitely be sure to check this one out. Special thanks to Pvt. Mel for sending this cool new installment in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

- Help me with detials on how to put a fuzz head on a 1996 gi joe muscle body? -- Alan of the Vagabonds, 12:02:31 02/15/13 Fri (static-65-175-137-44.cpe.metrocast.net/65.175.137.44)
Can someone offer tips on how to do this?
If all goes well I should be getting a cotswold reproduction fuzz head in the mail with fuzzy beard and I hope to put it on a gi joe muscle body (I think my body is a 1996 or 1998 one with the hands on hinges he had a red head before I took it off)
I cut the old red head carefully off. The post peg thing is on the figure and intact and not damaged in any way. it is shaped a bit like a top hat looking at it from the side.
Since the new head is fuzzy with a fuzzy beard I assume I can't just put it in boiling water to soften it. I don't want to wreck it or have the fuzz fall off. Will it just slip on or do I need to do something as a trick like hold it over a candle or put a bit of baby oil on it to slip it on?

Wrapping up this week for us is our old friend Kaber with the final part of his Mercury Mike photo story. A great finish for sure! I have to say Mercury Mike's greeting party at the end of his flight cracked me up. Wow, this was one heck of a story from our old friend. I really enjoyed this one, the cool factor was way up there! So if you've been looking forward to the final piece of Kaber's awesome story like I have, then don't miss this one! Must see stuff! Special thanks to Kaber for sending this very cool story in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

OK troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. So let's get right to it!
Up for today is our old friend Ranger11B. This time with an update on his 1/6th Stryker kit project. And it's looking very cool! He's still got quite a bit of work left to do on it, but like I said, it's looking really cool as is. Also, he included a pic of a 1/6th scale Star Wars x-wing fighter that he bid on on eBay but unfortunately... lost :( Wow, a pretty amazing piece there. Whoever did win that thing, I hope he puts it in a place where a lot of people can see it. So definitely be sure to check out this cool new photo page submission from our old buddy. You won't want to miss it! Special thanks to Ranger11B for sending this cool update in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Some pretty cool close-ups. Check out one of my favorite movies - Predator!
Also, although I've been visiting the Unoffical Fan Page since 2002, I never really knew the history. Thanks GL and keep up the good work!

I found a site called gijoeinformation.com and was wondering if anyone had any dealings with him. He seems to have some neat stuff for sale in his supply depot area. I keep drooling over the deuce and a half troop transport. I doubt I will get it but boy it seems neat.
