- Photobucket has changed their photohostng and linking rules, you might already be affected .... -- Gun Shy, 10:14:49 07/03/17 Mon (mw-esr1-72-49-35-19.fuse.net/72.49.35.19)
Good to see GL and this forum is still up and at it! Things otherwise out on the web isn't looking too good in contrast. Photobucket has done a real number on it's base of users, and it having a major negative impact on the hobby forums and others.
You might want to read and keep track of these threads in other forums, as new information on this continues to be found, or if more photo services change their rules too.

Ok troops, time for another cool site update - so let's get right to it!
Returning for today is our old friend Hogie309 with part two of his last photo shoot "The 4th of July." Probably some of you were wondering from the last episode where the 4th of July title came from, well wonder no longer, because part two definitely spells it out. Hogie set up a cool little 1/6th fireworks display for his Marwencol folks. I swear a few of those photos look absolutely real - 1/1 scale! As always, more terrific work from our old friend. You won't want to miss it! Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Well guys, I guess that does it for today. More stuff to come in the 1/6th world soon, so be sure to come on back. Until then... take it lite men.

GL, I wanted to express my heartfelt appreciation for you and the work you have done on this web site. Almost to 5000 pictures and how many years? My pictures are included there and I even won a contest once. :-) You have always remained consistent and full of encouragement. It is an example I have tried to emulate. In the past I have submitted pictures just to hear you praise them. I have always intended to continue the comic I started that was inspired by point man. So many things get in the way and now I have my own little ultimate 4 month old soldier. I find it amazing that you have continued on with this site over the years. I continually come back and check in. It is full of fond memories. I don't know how many lives and hearts you have touched but I am one. Thank you.

Up for today is our old friend Hogie309 with his next episode, this one entitled "The 4th of July." This was a huge episode, so I divided it in half; 50 photos now and 50 photos in a few days. A ton of great photos though! Boy, I sure think Hogie must own every one of the super cool female Phicens out there on the market. I see he added Lady Death to his collection. I have the same figure, and it is very cool! So if you've been having withdrawl from lack of photos like me, then you won't want to miss Hogie's new installment. Plenty of great photos from our old friend, as always. Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending them in and sharing them with us. Sharp Salute!

Who said that women aren't into 1/6? Barbie came out first in 1959, GI Joe came out in 1964!

Some of the best diorama work many of you have ever seen on this and many other boards, were made because the artists dared cross from the Green aisle over to the Pink aisle, finding things to use that otherwise they would not find in the "Boy's Action Figure Section" alone. Mattel Barbie has been putting out fantastic product for Children's play and Adult Collecting, and plenty of it.
This little figure of "Ham Chuck" I made to use for a diorama of the movie "The Green Berets", I made from a very well "played with" Barbie family figure and shoes, mixed with items from the Hasbro JFK set, and combined with Sideshow, Cotswold, and 21st Century items to complete the scene.

Like says on the header I've got a couple of 1/6th scale RC vehicles up for grabs . And I'm going to be doing a REDUCTION IN FORCE in the near future .
I'm running out of space to display stuff , and I need to find the guys a Home , preferably with folks who have remained loyal to the 21st CENTURY BRAND , even though they went under far , far to soon .
We're talking WW II , GERMANS , and US TROOPS , some VC / NVA TROOPS , and a bunch of loose weapons , and other gear .
Most of it , if not all IS 21ST CENTURY uniforms , weapons etc. A lot of it is approaching twenty years old , or thereabouts . Yep , twenty years . I bought my 21st CT outfit Christmas of 1997 .
No list or pics yet , but I'm working on it , and on pics of the RC stuff , these are not stripped out vehicles . Every things there , as I only used them for display I never had the batteries or remotes .
The first vehicle is the NEW BRIGHT silver , and black hummer . That has some minor damage , mainly to the suspension , she's been converted to a TECHNICAL , or GUNTRUCK . with a TOW , twin M-60s , plus a fifty cal .
The second one is a blue NEW BRIGHT SSR pickup that has some minor damage , a broken door hinge , a couple of cracks on the hood , and is missing the cover on the pickup bed . She still looks good . I'll get the pics up ASAP , and if anyone is interested LMK , and we'll go on from there .

Thought I would check in, and say hi! I still come here, just not daily, as I did way back when.
I don't kitbash much anymore, there's just not a lot in my interests (Japanese and Scottish, eh!). Picking up a Samurai here or there, but that's about it. Still haunt the boards, to see what's coming, and look for inspiration, but it's fewer and further between lately.
@Hogie: Watched the Marwencol DVD the other day, always moving to see your struggles and strife, and know how you have overcome them, to be a better man. The community I live in now has a very vibrant local artist "scene", and I enjoy hanging around the edge of it. Wish I could intro you to them, simply because you are inspiring.
I am also reading your book, am at about chapter 7 (it's been weekend reading at my kitchen table for a bit).
Anyone on the boards live in the Dallas or Houston area? I'm doing some business trips there (in two weeks @Dallas, and April, I'm in Houston). Give me an email, maybe we can get together.

Also, a great chance to check out the wide variety of new female figures and headsculpts being offered these days. Some of them are pretty spectacular looking. So be sure to check this one out! Some of you might know, I no longer work in surgery. I started burning out, making mistakes. There's no room for that in the OR, so I resigned. I now walk a beat as a patrol security officer- "rent a cop"- at 1/4 of the pay. I have been walking around Omak Library, keeping drunks and druggies from bothering people since June of last year. Two days ago, I see a familiar name among the titles- MARWENCOL!!! As in, "Welcome to MARWENCOL" by Mark Hogancamp and Chris Shellen! Amazingly, I see mention of my name on page 200! Along with the figure that represents Me!!! Imagine the surprise of the Librarians when I point out that I actually know Mark Hogancamp and that this figure is based on ME!! Of course, I checked out the book... hella good read there, Hoagie!
Last summer, I started digging out the level ground to build MY 1/6 scale township, Vierville sur Mer. Got a good ways finished, but I have more digging to go (I live on a hillside). I've been inactive, but not much longer- I want to go on with my story.
Hoagie- how much would you charge for a signed 8x10 color of "Rescuing the Major"?
the Old Sgt.

- Captcha back on.... -- GL, 10:25:58 01/31/17 Tue (96-41-213-202.dhcp.elbg.wa.charter.com/96.41.213.202)
Sorry guys but I had to temporarily turn that annoying captcha password back on. Thought I could handle the flow of incoming board spam but its totally out of control. Doesn't matter if I wait a few minutes or a day, by the time I get to the board it's full of spam. Hopefully I won't have to keep it enabled for too long. I know captcha is annoying but we're just going to have to deal with it while posting again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok troops, time for the first site update of the new year. So let's not waste anymore time and get right to it!
Starting off this year for us will be our old friend Hogie309 with part 1 of his newest episode. This one entitiled "The New Statue". It seems the girls and guys of Marwencol get a new statue to display in the town. A very cool statue indeed. As always more terrific shots from Hogie of all his newest awesome looking Marwencol ladies. So be sure to go check this one out. Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending this cool new episode in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field, so let's get right to it!
Up for today is the return of our old friend Pvt. Mel. Here we get a cool photo shoot entitled "Hold until Relieved" that he did for Canada's Remembrance Day. Ol' Pvt. Mel has a great looking bunch of Canadians here, and of course, his photos and setups are always terrific, as you know if you're familiar with Mel's work. Must see stuff in my opinion, so definitely be sure to check it out! Special thanks to pvt. Mel for sending this cool shoot in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Kust a small one today but cool nonetheless...so let's get right to it!
Up for today is more from our old buddy Jeff Nelson. This time we get a few photos of his kitbashed WW2 U.S. Marine Sniper. An outdoor shoot with him staking out his position in a rocky outcropping. Pure TUS here with this figure, so a great one for all you 21st purists :) So be sure to go take a peek at him. Special thanks to Jeff for sending this cool Marine in and sharing him with us. Sharp Salute!

- Market research questions- -- Sgt. Howard, 21:18:23 10/28/16 Fri (NoHost/64.139.113.76)
Apologies if this is breaking any SPAM rules, but this seems the easiest way for me to find out. I've been a bit through the wringer since 2006, but now things are settling down a bit- am looking to go to market. Question;
What structural surface would interest you most? IE, bricks, stone, wood clapboard, Beam & waddle... and doors and windows- what era/local? Thank you
the Old Sgt.

It looks like someone got into Voy's site again. Only way to stop it is me keeping an eye on it 24 hours a day and deleting it by hand or put that annoying "captcha" password thing back up. I'll try and see if I can handle the flow and delete it as it pops up but I might have to go back to the captcha thing for awhile until Voy closes the door on these spammers again
