Ok troops, time for the last site update of the week. Just a small one to wrap it up with, but completely relevant. So let's get right to it.
Wrapping up this week for us is our old friend Cbtengr with a Memorial Day inspired photo shoot. Just a few of his troops in some mini Memorial Day tribute setups. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, and a soldier at a grave marker. A really cool tribute to our Veterans here, so be sure to check it out. Special thanks to Cbtengr for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time another cool site update from our fellow men in the field, so let's get right to it!
Today we're going to a military show with Point Man and the SSCC. It seems like they were invited to join a recent military show and bring along some of their 1/6th stuff, so this photo shoot features both 1/6th and 1/1 and boy, all of it some serious eye candy for somebody like me! Some fantastic miniature vehicles and a ton of 1/1 scale stuff. Of course, Point Man does it all up in his comic book style so I'm sure you're going to really enjoy this one as much as I did. It sure looked like a great show, I hope none of you guys in that area actually missed this thing :) Lucky for us though, if you did, Point Man takes us on the virtual tour so definitely don't miss this one! A great new scrapbook page submission for sure. Special thanks to Point Man and the SSCC for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Up for today is our old friend Wilcard. It seems our old buddy found some photos from an old photo shoot he did a long while back and decided to send them in for us to check out. I definitely remember seeing the original shoot and it was a cool Robin Hood-esque kind of thing. I'm definitely glad he sent in the extras that he found because they're pretty darn cool. So be sure to check them out! Special thanks to Wildcard for sending these in and sharing them with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for the first site update of the week and it's a cool one, so let's get right to it!
Starting off this week for us is our old friend Pvt. Mel. He's back with another one of his cool indoor diorama setups. This one features a great looking bunch of German troops and their vehicles guarding a group of captured US personnel. Once again, like you might expect, a great setup from Mel with lots of great figures to see and some cool camera work too. Another excellent project from our old friend for sure. So definitely go take a peek at it, you won't want to miss it! Special thanks to Pvt. Mel for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for the last site update of the week and as usual, we'll end with one of our continuing photo stories, so let's get right to it!
Wrapping up another week for us is our old friend Hogie309 with the newest WWII Town of Mawrencol episode, this one entitled "The Flowers". This one picks up right after GL and the lone Pvt. come in to save that group of women, as seen in the last episode. Once again, a bunch more fantastic photos from ol' Hogie here and it looks like those in-scale flowers of his are blooming. More great shots to look at for sure, so definitely be sure to check this one out! Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Sorry the bus is a little late today, but it's time to take that field trip I mentioned last week. So let's not waste any more time and hit the road!
Up for today is our old friend Jimmy Pivo. He recently visited a local Militaria show and took a bunch of great photos of all the stuff he saw. Mostly a ton of great looking restored military vehicles, trucks, jeeps, humvees, and even a mule I believe (no, not the four legged kind :) Boy this would have definitely been something to see since you don't get to see this kind of stuff in person every day. I sure would have liked to take a really close look at that WWII Halftrack and boy I sure would have drooled over that German motorcycle and sidecar. So be sure to take a peek at all Jimmy's great photos from this cool show! A terrific new scrapbook page submission for sure. Special thanks to Jimmy Pivo for letting us take the virtual tour with him. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Just a small one today and it features something you don't see around here nearly enough anymore. So let's get right to it!
Up for today is our old friend Sgt. Brasso with kind of an old school photo shoot featuring one of his baby faced Sams decked out as a modern PMC type in the Middle East. Like I told Brasso, it's good to see people still out there playing with their baby faced Sams. It still gives me a warm feeling when I see that goofy looking face headsculpt after all these years. Of course, Sgt. Brasso kitbashed a nice uniform for him and even threw in what I believe is the Power Team jeep to this shoot as well. Nothing seriously fancy by today's standards, but a just plain fun one without a doubt! So be sure to take a peek at him! Special thanks to Sgt. Brasso for sending this cool shoot in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for the first site update of the week. And we'll start off with a little humor. So let's get right to it!
Up to start off this week for us is our old friend Cbtengr and he's back with another one of his comedic photo stories. This one is entitled "Always notify the Authorities". I can't really say too much about this one, for fear of giving away any punchlines, but I will say if you're a fan of Cbtengr's previous work, you'll definitely like this one too! And I'm sure you'll get a little chuckle at the end, without a doubt. Another great job by our old buddy, so be sure to check this one out. Whew... slow week :) So time for the last site update of this week and we'll wrap up as usual with one of our continuing photo stories. So let's get right to it then!
Returning to wrap up this week for us is our old friend Hogie309 with the last part of his newest Marwencol episode, "The Save". If you guys remember from part one, Captain Hogencamp had been shot in the back by some Nazis and Deja was being overwhelmingly attacked. Surely their fates were in question at the end of that one. In this part two we get to see what happens. Of course, you can probably guess... they probably make it :) But how, is the question. So if you've been wondering like I have, then definitely be sure to check out this cool second part of "The Save". Great stuff again from Hogie. Special thanks to our old friend for sending this new one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Returning once again is our old friend Zman, this time with two more of his great Wild West figure projects. This time he takes on the Range Detective, who from his description were basically hired gun types that were used to combat cattle rustlers. Once again, two sharp looking cowboy western figures here from our old friend. Boy, he's putting quite a collection of those western guys together now. Pvt. Mel is back with another cool one of his indoor diorama setups for us. Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Two sharp sets for today, so let's get right to it!
First up for today, friend and fellow trooper Zman returns with another of his cool, customized and unique figure projects. Again, it is from that late 1800s period. This time, a very sharp looking secret service agent. You never know what ol' Zman will come up with next, I always look forward to his latest projects. He always has a great looking figure in store for us for sure, so be sure to check this guy out! Special thanks to Zman for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

And last but not least for today, our old friend Ilaf sends us in a cool new scrapbook page submission. It seems he recently had a chance to visit the Fort Davis historical site in Texas and took a few shots to share with us. A neat little place that was used in the Civil War until the Union abandoned it and then it was later used to tame the west, by the US Cavalry, I assume. A cool place, so be sure to go check out Ilaf's highlight photos of his trip. Not a ton of them, but neat nonetheless. Special thanks to Ilaf for sending these in and sharing them with us. Sharp Salute!

Well guys, I guess that does it for today. One more cool site update left in the week, so be sure to come on back and check it out! Until then... take it lite men.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Glad to see a lot of the same names around here, even though I've been inactive in the hobby for the last 3 years or so...
I have a ton of Nam items, 21st Century, SOTW, Dragon, etc, that I'd like to sell off. Included would be a complete custom LRRP team and a complete custom Infantry squad.
I also have a good load of more modern figures and equipment/accessories, mostly 21st Century, BBi, Dragon, SOTW, and Power Team Elite...Along with these there's a Power Team Humvee and a 21st Littlebird chopper (played with condition).
Also have a fair amount of nudes, heads, and hands that need to go.
Is anybody interested in this stuff? I know it's not the latest and greatest manufacturers, but it's still a load of really nice stuff! I'd like to sell it either all as one lot or in three individual lots of Nam, Modern, and bodies.
Email me if you're interested at danisbar25@yahoo.com and I'll take some pictures. It may take me a day or two to get them...it's a lot of stuff. I'll have to figure pricing once I've got it all out...I just wanted to know if there's any interest first...
Bart

Ok troops, time for the first site update of the week. Just a small one to start off with, but another cool project in my opinion, so let's get right to it!
Returning to start off this week for us is our old friend Zman with another cool, kitbashed custom figure for us. This time, a 1930s era Texas Ranger. Another spot on figure from ol' Zman here that surely could have come straight out of the box. Sporting his denim jacket and pants and white hat, this guy looks like every picture I've ever seen of the real thing. He's even accompanied by his faithful horse in this one. On a side note, I don't know if I'm tripping or not, but that headsculpt look like a young short-haired Robin Williams? Ok ok... maybe I'm tripping :) Nonetheless, another awesome project here from our old buddy, so be sure to check it out. Special thanks to Zman for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Had hernia surgery Monday- right nw my block&tackle look like it's been worked on with a baseball bat while sitting in a large black eye... feels that way as well. Can't complain too loudly- it's the first chance I've had to sign in since last y'all have heard from me. I will be movin again soon, back to the property in Malott (which I now own outright) as soon as the septic is redone. That's where I was living when I got hooked on this stuff.
It's all still "mothballed", waiting for me to find time to play...

Ok troops, time for the last site update of the week. Sorry again about nothing yesterday, stupid FTP upload problems again. Anyway, let's get right to the final site update of the week before anything else happens :)
Returning to wrap up another week for us is our old friend Hogie309 with part two of his newest Marwencol episode "From mud to dust". As always with any Hogie shoot, more fantastic photos for us to see. I know I've said it hundreds of times already, but I'll say it again, he sure can capture those little 1/6th people like no other. So if you've been waiting for this cool part two like I have, then definitely don't miss this one! Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!
CLICK HERE to jump to that page!
* By the way guys, I've gotten a few confused emails concerning Hogie's story from people who haven't checked it out for a while, but I just wanted to clarify the fact that Hogie actually started the Marwencol saga over again from the beginning - with his plane crash photo shoot, so Captain Hogencamp does not know any of the characters yet and the shoots we are seeing now are what's happening leading up to the new incarnation of the town of Marwencol. Just wanted to clear that up :)
Well guys, I guess that wraps up this week. More cool stuff on the way for next week, so be sure to come on back regular time Sunday night/ Monday morning for more cool stuff from our fellow men in the field. Until then... take it lite men.
Have a great weekend guys!

- Thanks GL and Fellas for your comments on this episode, of the very beginnings of Marwencol. I figured, . . . . since I had the 1/6th P-40, like Cpt. Hogancamp crashed landed in, in the movie and in the story, but since the baginning of my world's story I've never had an actual 1/6th P-40 to begin my story with. Until, a fan donated a 1/6th P-40 to my cause, which I was so grateful for and filmed it . . .(cont. inside) -- Hogie309 (HOH), 17:02:44 04/30/12 Mon

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. So let's not waste anymore time and get right to it!
Returning for today is our old friend Zman, this time with two more of his cool Western era late 1800s figures. The first is a very cool Bounty hunter, complete with horse and everything, a very sharp looking project here for sure. The second however, is my favorite, a very sharp looking Pinkerton detective, complete with bow-tie! A very artistic and inspired project here for sure in my opinion. Another Pinkerton type guy that if it were a boxed set for sale, I would have definitely been on the preorder list :) So be sure to check out both of these cool new figures from our old friend, you won't want to miss them, especially if you're into that Western type stuff. Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Kind of a big one today and really cool too, so let's get right to it!
Returning for today is our old friend Pvt. Mel with another one of his cool, indoor setups. This time we get some cool WWII British/ Canadian paratroopers taking their positions as they hear some German soldiers approaching. Once again, a very cool setup here from Mel with lots of great looking figures. Some excellent camera angles too. So definitely be sure to check out this latest project from our old friend. Ok troops, time for the first site update of the week. A small one, but a very cool one, so let's get right to it!
Starting off this week for us is our old friend Dewback Matt with the final paint on his Abrams tank project. It still needs a little bit of detail he mentioned, like lights and things, but this is pretty much the final paint job. It's hard to believe this started out as scraps of cardboard and glue! Our old buddy put in a few shots of it in the cardboard stages too in this set just so we can see what a transformation its undergone. A true masterpiece here! Hopefully one of you guys out there have the cash to buy this off of him, I sure would if it wouldn't have to be on a 20 year payment plan LOL. This thing is sure a piece of 1/6th eye-candy without a doubt. So if you've guys have been anxiously awaiting this update like I have, then don't miss this one! Ok troops, time for the last site update of the week. We'll wrap it up with one of our continuing photo stories. So let's get right to it!
Wrapping up another week for us is our old friend Hogie309 with the next installment of his WWII Town of Marwencol saga, continued from photo set 4488, entitled "From Mud, to Dust". This was a huge episode, so I'm breaking it up into two parts so only part one of this episode tonight. Of course, as always, more great photos from Hogie. He's got the ol' baby carriage out and he's wheeled more of his great looking figures out to film. I don't really want to give too much of the storyline away here, but I did notice that the mini-GL gets a new look! As I said, another great episode here from Hogie filled with some fantastic photos. I loved the Kubelwagen driving down the road sequence. So definitely don't miss this one! Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending in this cool new episode and sharing it with all of us. Sharp Salute!

....a fella just recently emailed me asking if I could assist with identifying a talking 12" action figure he had come across in a garage sale or something. I figured I could help since I thought I would at least recognize the brand even if I hadn't actually seen the figure in person myself. Well I was wrong :)
This one has me completely stumped. I told him if I were to take a stab at a guess that I would say he was one of those "no name" generic solders you find around from time to time but I wasn't sure. He mentioned he ended up coming to me because the walkie talkie the figure came with had a 21st Century Toys stamp on the back. That's the only identifying mark he could find anywhere. Oh and a "made in china" on the figure's body. That's it.
Anyway I told him I would run the photos he took by you guys to see if anyone had actually seen this figure around somewhere in the box, in a store. Maybe one of you might know "WHO" he is. The fella was just looking for any kind of imformation on this figure.
So if you have a few minutes to spare I'd appreciate you guys taking a peek at his link with the photos of this figure. He also uploaded a Youtube video of the figure talking and included a link to that at the bottom of the page.
I'm thinking if it's one of those no name budget figure we may never know his true identity and who made him but maybe someone has seen him and at least might know what the packaging said. Of course he could be a kitbash too.
Anyway here's the link:

Up for today is our old friend Zman with another cool kitbash project of his. This time, an awesome Railroad Policeman from 1898. A fantastic looking Pinkerton detective type guy here without a doubt. I always wondered why none of the action figure companies never did a Pinkerton detective. Totally not 1/6th related, but I felt like sharing ("isn't that special" in church lady voice). As I foray onto the internets to pay the Friday night bills, I am reliving my 80's heavy metal roots by playing the entire Metallica album ,Master of Puppets, on YouTube... really effing loud! It takes me back to my younger days of metal shows at the A-town airport music hall, and the Silo, as often as possilbe, sometimes every weekend. Slam dancing in the pit, stage diving, going deaf, smoking entire packs of cigarettes in one night, ears ringing for days later. Bumps, bruises, bloody noses on occasion. Bands like Slayer, Metallica, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Obituary, etc, etc, etc. Okay, that's it. I just had to get that out.
MetalFox1435 OUT!

- Matt, I hear where you are coming from. I often try to recall the names of some of the old bands that I used to listen to and run them through You Tube from time to time while sitting and working at my desk. Ilaf and Warriors 1st Bn often get links to what I have found. Such as Catfish Hodge, Lou Reed, Steppenwolf, then the real favorites such as Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Buffett, and I love the version of Peter Gunn by Jeff Beck. - I will attest Rich can find some surprising tunes. I have a wide variety of music enjoyment.. But nothing like catching that mood of listening to some good tune! (NT) -- ilaf, 00:00:36 04/15/12 Sun

Ok troops, time for the last site update of the week. No action figures this time, but definitely action figure related, so let's get right to it then!
Returning to wrap up this week for us is our old friend Pvt. Mel with a cool photo shoot, a sort of before and after thing, of him landscaping that indoor diorama of his, before a shoot. Like I said above, no action figures or actual figure setup this time, just the layout of his table, first completely bare and then the steps he takes and the items he uses as he sets up the landscaping. I've always been interested in what he was using and how he went about this and I'm sure for any of you guys hoping to do the same thing at your own homes, this will come in quite handy. So definitely be sure to take a peek at it. Special thanks to Pvt. Mel for sending this helpful shoot in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Well guys, I guess that wraps up this week. I think I'm pretty much completely out of photos now, so I'm not sure how next week will flesh out but if I have anything to post, you know I'll be posting it, so be sure to come on back regular time Sunday night/ Monday morning when we'll get this whole thing started up again. Until then... take it lite men.
Have a great weekend guys!
Sharp Salute!

- That is absolutely awesome Mel. Not only for the reference to scale with the pull back shots, but just how you go from base components to convincing outdoor scenery. (NT) -- FireFox1435, 19:22:30 04/12/12 Thu
- Mel, I Love the way you build your diorama up from just wood layed out, like a blank sheet of drawing paper. I love the scene that you saw in your mind and built it up on flat wood panels, AND, I cannot wait to see what sort of little scene you've planned for us next time, old boy , heheheh :) Thanks Mel, for showing us how you do it :) (NT) -- Hogie309 (HOH), 18:48:02 04/13/12 Fri
- Very interesting to see this! Are you hot glueing the wood branches down, or using something like clay to hold them on the board? I guess even for the green trees also. Still, many thanks for sharing this! (NT) -- ilaf, 00:05:20 04/15/12 Sun

Well folks i havent been about this part of the place we call call Earth, BUT i have been just about everywhere else.
I was here trying to get cought up with all the happenings and with all the cool works folks here are doing
I have had my entire world turned topsy tervey .
but in a very cool way.
All is well . and i and Julie are fine .
I am no longer working for the univesity of Nebraska .
I am doing very well in the plastic models industry.
buying and selling
and got myself chest deep into doing SCI FI [ NOT SYFY !!!!] cons and all
I am finding myself getting further away from the one sixth world , and into One /One scale props and costuming.
I am now leading a local chapter of a Star Trek fan club known as the KLINGON ASSUALT GROUP. and am captain of a ship as said.
I have been doing SCI FI cons and giving panels as well as doing displays.
and having the time of my life in doing so.
I still have most of my collection . but had put them away . save for my little bird and super jeep . those are just too cool not to have about on display .
I am wanting to sell off stuff . but just havent the time to realy dig . but if you guys are wanting items just send e an E mail. This stuffs gotta go. and go cheaply. and i will throw in lots of extras to YOU GUYS HERE.
Keep bringing out those awsome figuresand dios and i will be monitoring these airwaves .

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Today we'll be moving on with one of our continuing photo stories, so let's get right to it!
Returning for today is our old friend Hogie309 with the next episode of his WWII Town of Marwencol saga, continued from photo set 4488. This one is entitled "Cotton Candy Clouds". I don't want to give any of the storyline away here, but I will say we pick up with Captain Hogencamp and Deja Thoris as they make their way out of the mud and into the Belgium countryside. That's about all I can say other than, of course, more fantastic photos here from ol' Hogie, so be sure to check it out, you won't want to miss it. Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for the first site update of the week. So let's get right to it!
Starting off this week for us is our old friend One Shot. It seems his local library asked him once again to set up another action figure display for them. This time around, One Shot went with the military theme again and set up a ton of his great looking figures for them. Some Vietnam, WWII, and even some ancient warriors. Too many figures here to comment on individually, but like I said, once again, One Shot has done an awesome display for his local library. Those people sure are getting a cool treat every time our old friend comes around. So definitely be sure to take a peek at what ol' One Shot has done here. Great stuff! Special thanks to One Shot for sending this cool project in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!
