Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. Sorry about this one being a tad on the late side, but I got another one of those stupid sinus infections, and boy those things really bring me down for about a week; even with medication. Good to go now, so let's get to some new stuff because the bin is getting a little backed up!
Up for today is our old friend Hogie309 with a little episode he calls "The Bad Guy, The Bad Witch, and Us..." As you might expect, more terrific photos here from Hogie, and definitely more great looking 1/6th figures. You will not want to miss them! Also, Hogie sent in a couple bonus shots of him wearing his 1/1 scale WWII bomber gear. Too cool :) So be sure to check this one out, must see stuff as always! Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending in another cool batch of photos and sharing them with us. Sharp Salute!

Well guys, I guess that does it for today. More cool stuff coming really soon - no more than a day or three, so stay tuned! Until then... take it lite men.

Hey guys,
I'm starting to create projects again and I'm a bit rusty since I've been out of the game for a while but I've ordered threw monkey depot and found them to be a pretty good source for boxed dragon figures.
I'm putting together a British Special Forces jeep kinda like the world war 2 sas versions you see floating around mostly. But the one in building will be geared toward either modern or the Falkland wars (really liked the dragon 30th anniversary figure set of six and have a scene in mind.
I need to know where to squire a few alice packs and rucksacks for it plus loose gear preferably Falkland stuff..(Yes I've left Vietnam and been buying up mostly dragon)
The only place I've discovered is ebay but want to do this jeep but still have a little coin in my pocket...007 out

Back again is our old friend Zman with yet another of his super cool projects. This time - a vital part of the Vietnam War - a Pararescue trooper. As usual, Zman does a bang-up job with this one. A great looking figure along with some terrific photos. If you're into that Vietnam War stuff like I always have been, then this is definitely must see stuff for you! Excellent work all around from our old friend, without a doubt. So be sure to go take a peek at this one. Special thanks to Zman for sending this cool project in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Picked up this set at the last Joe show I attended. I bought it because it was cheap, and only later when I compared it to the set I already had did I realize it was a variant packaging. I don't know how widely known this was (or how many would even care these days), but I thought it was cool, so here are a couple pictures.
First is the one I already had and have seen around.

Hi Guys!
It's been quite a while since I've posted a message, but I've been lurking in the shadows time to time. Sadly, my current living situation is quickly spiraling out of control, and I will probably have to move into a shelter. My collection has been stored where I'm currently located, but I haven't done much with it in years. I am in need of lightening my load, and the collection is a hindrance to move or store now. I'm in the Wausau , Wisconsin area, if anyone local wants some items. Email me soon because time is of the essence. If I get no takers, I'll probably be dumping it at one of the local Goodwills.
Greenleader, thanks for keeping this site up and running. I really appreciate the work you put into it. I salute you! Take care Sir.

OK so here goes.....
Say for instance today I receive 3 photo shoots to post and those are most likely the only photos I will get for say....3 weeks. Would you guys rather see 1 of those shoots posted a week for 3 weeks or all 3 posted in one week's time and then have nothing to view for the 2 remaining weeks?
There lies my quandry. Being a webmaster I naturally lean towards the former. You know, some kind of content on a regular basis. However being not only the webmaster but one of the site participants like you, I realize that I would want my photos posted as fast as possible because I would be amped up to share them with you. :)
So what are your thoughts on this matter? I will be happy to do whatever you guys feel would be best for you and your fellow troops here at the forum. No real skin off my back either way. Just wanted to know how you would handle the same quandry if you were me. Any thoughts you would like to share on the subject?
Thanks in advance for the listen and any input you might have.

- Personally, I think it best to post one a week. Here's why: If you post all at once, someone will see them and think "cool, I'll check back", then find nothing for the next two weeks and probably drop off. One per week will bring that person back again and again. Activity get's attention. Plus that's less time consumption per week for GL, and us regulars get to see something new each week. Just a thought. (NT) (NT) -- Joebros, 23:25:58 02/13/18 Tue

He didn't mention what brand this guy is, I have a feeling I've seen him somewhere before, but I'm not familiar enough to know what brand he is. Maybe you guys can help me on that. Definitely a great looking figure here though but it looks like the assembly might have been a little on the tedious side. Some nice detailing however, it makes for a very sharp looking figure when all put together. And of course, oo7 took some nice photos of him for us, so be sure to check him out! Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. So let's get right to it!
Returning for today is our old friend Hogie309. This time, some photos of his cool Super Girl figure from the television series. Just a bunch of shots of her so you can get a good look at her. It looks like she is flying into Marwencol on a snowy day. No other figures in the shoot except her though. Hogie strung these photos together in sort of a stop motion sequence - you know - a long string of photos that have been just slightly changed from the previous one. I have to say Super Girl is a great looking figure. She looks a lot like the character in the tv show, without a doubt, and Hogie's photos are terrific as always - of course! Starting out this year's site updates is our old friend Zman with a cool new project for us with a distinct Halloweenish flavor - The Headless Horseman. Zman put together a great costume for this figure, and it looks like he even painted up an old Marx horse with red eyes. That was a question I asked the members back in 2004 or 2005. I can’t remember which year or even my troop count at that time but I do remember being surprised at the number of figures the guys had collected. Back then, I would do an annual inventory in early December in anticipation of receiving more figures at Christmas back when Target, Walmart, TRU and other brick & mortar stores carried our beloved figures – remember those days? The last time I inventoried my figures was 2009 and I had 170 at that time. I’ve amassed many more since then. I retired over 4 years ago thinking that I would have all kinds of time to re-inventory the troops. Well, as many of you have stated here in the past, 1:1 life gets in the way. I started re-inventorying/re-outfitting the guys last year and I’m now up to number 188.
Most of my figures are TUS and SOTW, but I have collected a few Dragon when I couldn’t find any more of the other ones. The figures are all kit-bashed and categorized by BDU (Woodland, Desert, Arctic, etc.). Since I don’t have space to display them, I take 1 photo of each figure, document them in an Excel spreadsheet by BDU and weapon and then store them in 8 - 18 gal. storage containers that I keep in the crawl space. I wish I had the patience and skill to set them up in the great action scenes that so many of you do; those shots are really cool! Anyway, just 1 1/2 more containers to go!
Hope to hear from you guys!

Ok troops, time for that long awaited site update. Two small ones for today, so let's get right to them!
First up for today is our old friend Sgt. Howard. Sarge sends in photos of actually two topics in this one. The first is some very early shots of his 1/6th scale European village that he is building in a lot near his house. Like I said, still early stages of this, but you can kind of get a feel for what he's going for here. I can't wait to see when he gets the whole thing more fleshed out with some details. And the second part of this photo shoot is a little peek at the new Barbie figures with the new bodies representing more of a real girl shape. Definitely not your tall, thin, pointy breast Barbies here for sure. So definitely go take a peek at this shoot. Special thanks to Sgt. Howard for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

And last, but definitely not least for today, our old friend oo7 is back after a long, long hiatis. A few photos of his classic, first series TUS Sams in the first series TUS Vietnam uniforms on display around his house - and a final shot of oo7 and his son at the end. It's hard to believe ol' oo7 was just a kid when he first came here. It's great to see him still in action. Special thanks to oo7 for sending this one in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Sorry about no updates in awhile guys. The HTML Author Software program (the thing I use to build the site) that I've
been using since I started the site in 1998 decided it didn't want to work anymore. Either a virus got in and corrupted it
or something else strange happened that I can't figure out. At this point anyone's guess is as good as mine. Anyway that
program doesn't even exist anymore so I had to get a whole new HTML Author program and relearn it. Basically just
familiarize myself with it. Think I've gotten that down now so site updates should be resuming as normal very soon.
Finally got all that other work related stuff sorted out too that has been slowing me down for months. So feel free to send in
any photos you've been wanting me to post. I'm pretty sure I'm good to go now and won't be strapped for time to work
on the site anymore. Hard to believe that at around 4th quarter of this year the Ultimate Soldier UnOfficial Fan Page will
have been online for 20 years. Time flies when you're having fun I suppose ;)

Been a long time. I"m finally getting back into collecting 1/6 scale figures but i have a few questions. 21st century toys was on the 'toyexit' when i left collecting but I've been looking around the internet and recently found several new companies i'm very interested in. Has anyone bought from 'Very hot toys' off monkey depot? or 'Super system'
Do you have to put the Sams together and are their heads changeable like the sculpts? I'm curious also is ebay the only place to find lose modern gear for ultimate soldier..A few pointers would be helpful.. i'm turning 30 next month and plan on buy a few just wanted to know about them before shelling out like 80.00 to 159.00
any old hands left on the board like REMF? Namplm? CK2?

Maybe I am the only 1/6th scale geek spazing over this, but I consider this a breakthrough! The pink aisle now has Barbies with enough fanny and thigh to look healthy and not anorexic! What's more, some are devoid of the vapid "I have a two-digit IQ" smile and feet not canted for high heels!!! Granted, they still have marginal articulation... but as 'background bodies', they suffice rather nicely! I have taken photos of the one I bought, and will document the process of making a skirt and blouse appropriate for occupied France. I am also considering sabots (clogs) out of sculpt. Whatcha think?

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field, so let's get right to it!
Up for today is our old friend Pvt. Mel with several photos of his new 1/6th acquisition - the 12 inch Marvel Legends Spiderman figure. Now, if you're familiar with the Marvel Legends line, they're only sculpted figures with no real clothing, but they're pretty highly articulated figures. This Marvel Legends Spiderman is pretty darn cool in my opinion - different headsculpts and everything! Well I finally got some extra time to take some photos for you. This one has a Halloween theme although it's a little late ;) Didn't say I found the extra time to go through them all and post them in time for Halloween ;) I took a bunch of photos of several of my figures that I thought fit the Halloweeny theme. This batch here of 4 figures is only part 1 of the entire shoot, so more to come. Featured in this update is Sideshow's Lon Chaney as the Masque of the Red Death from the 1925 film Phantom of the Opera, Majestic's Barnabas Collins and Quentin Collins from the old Dark Shadows TV show, Sideshow's Spike from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show, and my Hammer Films Christopher Lee as Dracula. Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field - so let's get right to it!
Up for today is "More Dreaming..." from our old friend Hogie309. This is a continuation of his last two previous shoots, back with his Russian troops. Of course, more terrific photos from our old friend here. He certainly has a way with that camera, without a doubt. So definitely be sure to check these new photos out from our old friend Hogie. You won't want to miss them! Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending these terrific new shots in and sharing them with us. - Sharp Salute!

Well guys, I guess that does it for today. Once again, the bin is empty, but of course, as soon as I get something, I'll get it up for you guys in a timely manner. I sure hope I can find some time to snap off some shots of my newer figures soon. At this point, it's probably stuff you've seen elsewhere, but hopefully you guys will enjoy seeing them. Until then... take it lite men.

Ultimate Soldier Mad Bomber boxed set MIMB- 20.00 dollars USD , not including shipping cost
( Battery in silver bomb case may or may not still work (it's a pretty older set and it's never been opened... etc) I cannot verify nor ascertain the quality of the battery, contacts or functional operation of the silver bomb case, just trying to be honest here) , can separate loose out of box for cheaper shipping or I can put packing padding around the original box, put some brown butcher paper around it and ship it that way, it would be a little cheaper to ship, but probably riskier for safety)
Shipping would be around 10-15 dollars USD depending on how you'd want it shipped ( loose complete, boxed and wrapped, MIMB in another box, etc)
Here is a stock photo of the item -

I know things around here have been on the slow side recently, to say the least. Even I have been lagging behind lately due to resent changes in work related issues. Of course I haven't been totally removed from our hobby. Getting as many new figures as I can afford anyway. Prices are getting a little on the crazy side for figures to be sure.
So I was wondering what you guys have been doing in the 1/6th world these days. I follow eBay pretty religiously and I know there is still someone out there buying tons of old TUS stuff online, which is good to see. :)
Larely I haven't been buying much in the way of military figures though. I think the last figure I got was the "Lost in Space" Will Robinson figure. They did a pretty nice job on him, although I thought the price for him was a little on the crazy side for a figure of that size. I'm also in the process of looking for a new camera to buy because my last one went kaput a couple of months ago when I tried to get out and get you guys some photos of my Death Dealer figure. I'm kinda tired of buying cameras that don't seen to take a better photo than my cell phone though. So shopping for a good one is taking some time. Any suggestions for an easy to use, or small learning curve camera would be appreciated ;)
Anyway what have you guys been doing lately in the hobby. Messing with your old stuff, buying new stuff, customizing, or just out of the hobby altogether? Just curious :)
Oh and by the way, I still have part 2 of Hogie's last shoot, a few new pics from Larry T, and a new Hogie shoot to post. I will get to as many of those as I can this week for sure, so stay tuned. Sorry for the OMG-long delay ;)

In keeping with the theme of this show, "Let's Play", there will be some small displays and related out in the lobby of the Showroom, but that's not the main reason to come to this event.
It will be the diversity and scope of the items you will find to add and use in your collection of figures!!!
This is a one day event you won't want to miss, and again to see what is typical in it, see the Flickr link for the last Spring Show 2017.

I will be adding photos ( maybe videos ) to the new Let's Play Album, so check back to it to see what is new.

First up for today is our old friend Larry T., back with more of his cool, old-school troops. This shoot is a mixture of some of his customized military troops and some America's Finest types. Once again, some really nice photos here from Larry. I really liked his smiley faced Brit. Chaplain. So be sure to check these guys out! Special thanks to Larry T for sending these cool shots in and sharing them with us. Sharp Salute!

Ok troops, time for another cool site update from our fellow men in the field. So let's get right to it!
Returning for today is our old friend Hogie309 with the next installment entitled "The Dreamer". I decided to save a little time on the posting and split this photo shoot in half, so this is only part 1, but I do already have part 2 in hand and I will be posting that very soon after this one. As always, more great photos from our old friend. I do believe the new "Hogie" headsculpt shows up in this photo shoot. It looks great too! A real sharp likeness of our old friend for sure. The guys at "That's my Face" did some nice work there. So definitely be sure to check out this new one from Hogie and I'll definitely be getting that part two up for you really soon. Special thanks to Hogie309 for sending this cool new episode in and sharing it with us. Sharp Salute!

Like it says on the header this would have been my Dad's 100th Birthday , he's been gone a long time , but not forgotten . They say that as long as somebody remembers your name you never truly die .
The two things that I admired most about my Dad was that he was a member of the US NAVY , during WW II . And that he was a long haul Trucker for over sixteen years . Back in the days of the Iron Men . NO AC , power steering , just sheer guts , and true grit .
We never truly got along , and we never even had the chance to say good-bye . That's the way it goes sometimes , you think that there will be a little more time to do the right thing , and too often there isn't ..................
Kinda of a weird thing about my Family History though ,and that's when we were born :
My Mom : 1914 , start of WW I
My Dad : 1917 , US enters WW I
Me : 1950 , four months later the Korean War broke out
And even my Wife has joined the " club " . She was born in 1962 , which was the start of the big buildup of the US in what would become THE NAM .
Anybody else have have any like that going on in their Families History ?
THE HIGHWAYMAN ( HOH )

Up for today is our old friend Jimmy Pivo back with a little update on his British Royal Marines.
