Here's one for the grey cells.Whilst serving my time in Manchester I worked on a few ships belonging to Watts,Watts,a very innovative company for a tramp outfit, due mainly,if memory serves to Eddie Watts. Two vessels,in particular, spring to mind,Wendover and Weybridge(both built 1958)They had very unusual configurations and layouts. In the mists of my addled brain I recall being told(It's a long time ago ang I was green!)that the hull shape was due to the fact that they had been designed for the use of a revolutionary new marine power plant.I know the ended up with very mundane Doxfords but anybody got any ideas on this concept?Beam me up Scotty!Alan
