Hi Paul,
Well without a name its going to be hard for us,but anyway here is the site to start your search.
You will see there are 13 entries for the name Branigan (i take it that was also his Surname)?
Have a look only you will know the correct one.
When you have found the one you want,you can then order his Papers from Kew(go to REQUEST THIS) at a small fee,this will give you the Ships he served on etc,also
Seamans Pouches have Pics with them,such as his signing on Pic with R number etc.
After you have the entries you can then start to look on the net for Pics of his Ships he served on,there are many sites such as this one which has an abundance of info on Ships.
