Hi PJ,
Well it wouldnt have worried me at all,had you also posted something regarding the Medal.
However i am just replying to try and set this all straight.
I may be incorrect but Williams post referred to the Vets Medal yes?
I know that the ordinary MN Medal which is also shown in my Pics (Gallery) is handed out like lollies (as you suggest) but then we are all still at least proud to have it arent we?
However the Medal in question is the Vets Medal i received for service to your Country whilst i was serving in the RAF.
However common any Medal may be its still something that one is proud to have,so i really dont know why you never aplied for your MN Medal??
Now the RFA Medal you have which is that related to?
Is that for the Royal Fleet Auxillary??
So i am not having a go or anything at all just putting my view forward.
I was very proud to have been in the RAF and the British Merchant Navy,it wasnt something many South Africans of my Era got to do.
Cheers and hope you are not too wet up there in Brissy!
Vernon
