On a positive note,we picked up a young hitch-hiker the other day and bought him home. A lovely young man from Chile. We put him up for a couple of days,''mothering''him, he was starving, dirty and worn out. His intention was to walk around the coast line as he was a marine biologist. I had to warn him of the dangers as he was alone and some of these bays are so remote, also climbing over the hills anything could happen to him and he would never be found. My husband took him to the top of the hill so he could walk to the next bay and he promised me he would keep to the roads. Some tourists DO take risks. Not that these girls did but you need to have company ANYWHERE you go.
