Hi Graham

I can sympathise with your sentiments because in 1954 we anchored off Southend-0n-Sea on mv Welsh Prince for four days waiting for a berth in the Surrey Commercial dock to discharge a cargo of timber and paper-pulp from Vancouver, after an 8 month voyage away. Who would have thought that ten years later the rot had already set in and the container was about to take over! I'm only grateful I shared the 1950's merchant marine.
cheers
tony
