Thanks, Vernon for your reply. It looks like I was better off as an A.B in that ship as I didn't have top use that pump!They were really primitive ships for accomdation. I was 9 months in her calling at every port from Genoa to Port Elazabeth, (South Africa), then back to Suez with a load of 1,000lb bombs and then all the way back around the coast to Walvis Bay, then Hamburg and London. Some voyage!
