Barry Docks “Past Remembered”

We support the idea of an M N Museum in my home town of Barry, South Wales.

“A survey shows some of the potential within Barry Waterfront to establish some sort of Town and Maritime Museum that will serve to inform people of what has been achieved, how it was achieved, and what it really cost”. David Simpson

David’s site pleads for a museum to record and remember the history of and tribute for Barry Merchant Seamen.

“Our concern is the lack of recognition given to those in the Merchant Navy for their work, particularly during the World Wars. We are interested in the port of Barry (in South Wales, UK), once a major coal exporting facility, and the way that had an impact on the town's seamen, resulting in their disproportionately high casualty rate”.

David is passionate about the Museum concept and one of the world’s former coal exporting and maritime ports could be an ideal candidate for an National / International M N Museum. We at Tregenna fully support David in his quest and ask that you look in at:

Decide for yourselves.
