Hi Roger,
What is going on? The bottom line is that there are no shipyards left in the UK that could possibly build a superliner. I live in on the shores of Loch Lomond which is approx. 18 miles from Clydebank. We often drive through there and Govan and I always feel sad when you see all these great yards have gone, only to be replaced by by shopping malls and luxury apartments. The same has happened over in Greenock which was were Scott Lithgows were located. When one thinks of the great liners built on the Clyde for Cunard and Canadian Pacific - all gone.
Same happened on Merseyside with Cammel Lairds, Harlands in Belfast and Barrow. No pun intended but we missed the boat on this one, literaly. With the right investment and co-operation between the unions and governments of the day
we could still be building ALL the worlds cruise ships.Don't forget the Queen Mary 2 was built in St Nazaire France.

All the Best
John.
