On the west coast of Canada pre1939 we had a vibrant self sufficient Japanese community, fishermen, market gardeners and artisans, along came Pearle harbour, they were all rounded up with only what they could carry, and shipped off to internment camps, three hundred miles inland, all the boats, houses, and land they owned were confiscated by the government(and never returned). A lot of these people were BORN here and had never ever seen the sky over Japan ,in fact some volunteered and fought with the Canadian army on D day and through the European nasties. So it would seem that as we bask in the "security"of our "adopted"countries, to keep in mind that all it takes to negate citezenship,(and in the above case birthright)is the stroke of a pen
