Subject: Retrial episode

On the episode Retrial I was blown away with the comment Alicia Montes made to Mac " soooo you're the one" after Harm introduced her to the professor. Do you think Alicia was showing interest in Harm and he told her about Mac?

[> I had to check the clip because I didnīt remember that one. I think it was a joke because Mac says something about having read Alicia's paper. She (Alicia) plays the (false) modesty card by saying Mac was the one - as in *ONLY* one - who read it. Though you can also take that as a double entendre, I doubt it was meant to indicate Harm had told Alicia he had feelings for Mac. He may have mentioned Mac in passing and Alicia picked up on the vibes. I can buy that. If I remember correctly, Alicia was brought in to be a possible Harm's SO. Since he and Mac were not an item, I just donīt see him telling Alicia that to keep her at armīs length. I think Harm was interested in Alicia. Maybe interested is not the right word. Let me see a comparison better explains what I mean >>>>> -- Lucia, 16:27:24 01/26/10 Tue

For those familiar with Moonlighting, towards the end of the show, David meets a woman (a blond with curly hair. Canīt remember the character's name). She is intelligent, fun, sex with her is good too. But, most of all, things with her are simple, as opposed to the neverending melodrama of being in love with Maddie. He was growing tired of that and the new fling was invigorating, a fresh start on the romance front. A relationship without baggage was tempting and he almost went for it. In hindsight, thatīs how I see the Harm/Alicia thing. Even Mac thought Harm had moved on. Of course we never saw any of that with Harm/Alicia because TPTB never developed the story - THANK GOODNESS!!!

[> The double meaning was definitely there. Its alarming and pathetic that Alicia looks like duckface Renee all over again. The neverending games from TPTB. At times they really preach to the choir Harm and Mac loves each other and then resort back to the undercover freudian slips and ferris wheels. -- Shania, 20:42:21 01/26/10 Tue

Not to be offensive because Im a former nonshipper but truly converted although there's really nothing to convert because I dont avoid or despise Harm and Mac but I embrace them and the amorous feelings fans have for them and their relationship. They sizzle but its the writing that fizzles.
I always thought it meant Mac because so many episodes always brought codes and innuendos for them that insulted me as a viewer. I recall those comments about she's got me, my girl is brunette, she's not my girl yet, some people are in love with you,all the love lines in Lifeline from Harm to Mac. All the hint hints and wink winks were so overkill its among the reasons I quit the show. Regular viewers dont have time to dissect and analyze what online fans too because most of us take the comment for what they are. Its not just Harm and Mac but the writing destroyed many characters from Harm,Mac,Webb,Harm Sr. Imes,Harriet's miscarriage, no happiness for the Admiral,so many arcs that were desperate and insignificant characters and stupid S.O's for Harm and Mac.I cant blame it drove many shippers to jump the titanic including nonshipper moi. Harm and Mac aalways shines and their chemistry lights up the screen when they tease, bicker, team up or even at odds with each other. I understand part of the payoff and fun are the buildup and tensions of the couples but for me if they got them sooner it would have brought a new edge and freshness & most of all attracted big ratings. If I were the network or TV boss I would give DJE and CB a movie that would do justice to their unique and riveting chemistry. Sorry I got carried away with my thoughts.

But not to sound bitter I liked the ending and Harm and Mac were the saving grace of this old timer show.
