I noticed the child as he walked by, our eyes met and I smiled at him. A few minutes later I noticed out of the corner of my eye that he was staring at me - so I looked at him and smiled a hello. There was a lull in the proceedings so it was very quiet when the child touched me on the arm and said in a very clear high pitched voice that carried for several rows... "You're not a lady!!"
