Subject: So now we know why Jack was taken by the "Others" and why he has been treated so differently than Sawyer and Kate.

One that is curious is that the Others seem to have all this in-depth character files of information but when it came to saving the woman's life last night, we learn that their medical supplies are lacking. They're getting supply drops of food, if they are in contact with the outside world why not medical supplies? And what was Desmond's Ben Franklin experiment all about? A lot of unanswered questions still. Anyone want to speculate?

[> Good Morning Jan...."They" surely are a group of contradictions aren't they...?...Some much information on our castaways but...THEY don't seem to have REAL knowledge of anything except bending people to their will....The reference to the Island Being Like "ALCATRAZ" ...unexcaptable?..or Like "Hogwarts" in Harry Potter invisible to the rest of the world...?? a sort of a Devils Island made up of Goverment psychological Experiment's ( on people) gone astray.??.Wow.. [> [> Yeah, I didn't buy into the Alcatraz bit either and thought it was just more con to Sawyer to try and keep him from not escaping. I think that Sam feels that if Sawyer and Kate are loose then they will try to free Jack and mount an attack on them. Why was Colleen's husband beating on Sawyer, he obviously didn't have anything to do with her death. I guess he was just the likely person to pick on since no one else was available. -- janette, 12:01:49 10/26/06 Thu

[> There just isn't any way that The Others are good guys! This isn't war. I now believe>>>>> -- Postrider, who is confused enough to be looking for Jericho, KS!, 12:13:30 10/26/06 Thu

The crash victims aren't an invading horde. They have no information that is crucial to The Others that The Others don't already seem to have. If Benjamin has a tumor on the fourth vertebra, I say, "Let the fertility doctor operate!" The Others need to learn that "you catch more flies with honey." Were I Jack, I'd tell them to let Benny-boy go get his operation on the mainland---OR "Let my people go!" I suppose anything this complex must have some leaps of logic; however, one-way visible islands and Polar Bears that can swim great distances (from the zoo on The Others' island), but the humans can't, particularly if that means that the crash victims are on an island which doesn't know the Others' Island exists and couldn't swim to it anyway (because they can't see it and it's too far!) means that there is no reason for conflict between the two groups!

Therefore, it stands to reason that the unseen island isn't an island at all! It is the far side of a gigantic bay whose narrow straits were bridged by a three-toed Colossus that was felled when an earthquake sank the opposite side of the opening to the strait. The bay was perfectly circular and the "pi" symbol marked the spot from which they began the measurement to determine if Pi R squared. The bay surrounds the magnetic South Pole which The Others harnessed by constructing a giant electromagnet which has the exact opposite polarity to the South Pole's, so that when they turn it on, there is a terrific magnetic storm unleashed which can bring down airplanes flying at 30,000 feet. The actual psychological experiment is not The Others watching the Dharmas in the hatches where the two in the control hatch watch the many who are watching the two, being watched by The Others; rather, it is Desmond's girlfriend's father watching The Others watching the Dharmas in the hatches where the two in the control hatch watch the many who are watching the two, being watched by The Others, but all of them are being watched by Sun's father who sentenced his daughter to this fate because she shamed him when he caught her having an affair!

If you aren't LOST now, don't worry--you WILL be!

[> I donīt think supply was the problem. I think expertise was. Speaking of which, didnīt it seem Jack was not making THAT big an effort to save the woman. I mean he did manage to resuscitate Charlie ... I wonder about the 2nd island too. When they captured Jack, Sawyer and kate they didnīt cross any stretches of water, did they? As to Desmond, I think he had another vision. The lightning would have stricken whatshername and the name if he had not built that lightning rod. -- Lucia ... and the mystery continues .............., 14:53:23 10/27/06 Fri

[> [> After the capture came the rapture! My guess is that they were taken across to the other island (if, indeed, that is what it is?!) after Walt and Michael sailed away. They were all still on the dock and another boat could have been brought in. As to the lightning rod, I also remember that the baby was supposed to have some great significance early on, but then that story line mysteriously disappeared. Maybe the lightning strike was the re-illumination of that mystery?! -- Postrider...or else, they needed to light a new fire for cooking and he was all out of matches..., 16:15:39 10/27/06 Fri
