Protein Power is another form of the low-carb diet/lifestyle. It's a little less strict than Atkins, but some people find it easier to adhere to as a way of life. The book is by Dr. Eades and is available at any bookstore, or you may find a copy at your local library. It's the plan that I follow.

It's good that you realize your reason for overeating, but now you need to address it. Loneliness is not an uncommon motivation for eating, but it's a tough one. I would recommend getting involved in your community, joining civic organizations, or even taking up a (non-food related) hobby to meet people and take your mind off of eating. Posting to this board and joining the chats is a good start. Whenever you feel lonely at home, pick up a good book instead of opening the refrigerator. Or if you must snack, choose LC options (raw veggies, pork rinds, beef jerky, cheese cubes, etc.) instead. It's hard giving up that "crutch", but you'll be so glad you did.

Best of luck!
