HI, Diana -

I use the Protein Power book also, and find it excellent as a way of life (WOL) and a proven, scientific method. If you wish to try it, get the book and read it cover-to-cover. It is good reading and very motivational.

I am almost 70, lost 70-1/2 pounds and keeping it off, and I have discovered one thing about dieting. It is not a thing to suffer through and then reward yourself by going back to the old WOEating.

Most diets are not healthy to stay on forever, but Low-Carbing is, if you know how to do it. Once you are down to your goal weight, you can increase the carbs slightly to maintain. But if you go back to the old ways, your weight and unhealthy ways will return. It's as simple as that, and it makes sense, when you think about it.

As Shara, the site sponser quotes: "Do or do not. There is no try." (Attributed to Yoda, in Star Wars. [more accurately, the writer]). In other words, just do it, and stick with it.

Sweet foods and carbs of all kinds can be quite addictive and the addiction can be overcome. It's best not to tease yourself with any. (You will get plenty from hidden carbs in most foods.) But if you do slip, don't get discouraged but return the next day to the right WOE.

Finally, if you are hungry eating low carbs, you are not doing it right!
