Subject: An Accident?

Gee I'm so sorry. That must have felt terrible to you. I had been driving without insurance for some time now, (always terrified, always being VERY careful). Well I finally got insurance (liability only) and got my car properly registered etc. And the other day just afterwards, I nearly got in an accident too. I was driving down the road and this old man in a Mercedes, starts to pull over into my lane without even looking.

I grabbed the wheel harder and tried to go off to the left a little to avoid him, feeling a little panic, looking for the horn. And my thumb just accidentally hit the horn. It didn't even feel like I hit the horn hard enough to actually honk it. It didn't feel like it was me hitting the horn. I mean it felt like an angel did it for me.

I know that probably sounds weird, and I'll never be sure, but he pulled back in his lane after the horn sounded, and I was so grateful that that horn went off when it did, but I don't think I touched it hard enough to make that sound.

I've had enough unusual things happen in my life that I believe in miracles, and this one felt like one. My little boy was sitting in the passenger seat, and that old guy didn't even look, he was just coming right over. I was right next to him and didn't have time to either speed up or slow down to avoid him, the only thing that saved that old man, his car and my little boy was that horn honking when it did.

I wanted to honk the horn, but they aren't as easy to find as they used to be when we used to have the big bars all around the wheel, those dumb little small buttons can be hard to find when you need them in a hurry.

Anyway, like I said, I think something other than me found the horn, and honked it at just the right time. I'm very grateful that we didn't get in an accident. I haven't even signed the insurance papers and sent them back yet. I'm sure we are covered, but that would have been a bad technicality if an accident had happened.

So, well, I don't know what to say to you to make you feel any better. The Bible says "Time and unforeseen occurrances happen to us all" (something like that, may not be an exact quote). In other words "shit happens" It doesn't have a reason, they happen to everyone.

Sometimes you escape by the skin of your teeth, and sometimes you don't. Hang in there. Things have GOT to get better for you. There is also what I've heard called "the law of attraction".

I'm not entirely sure if I believe in this one, but it states that what you think about and worry about or spend your time concentrating on is what you attract into your life. Maybe you need to start focusing on and thinking about the good things that happen to you.

That is a little mystical, but I think there might be some merit to the idea.
