Subject: More sugar anyone???

I don't blame Kel (see below) for defending sugar. It is simply the culture. Even though each and every one of us is on this board because of it. Here's something that further demonstrates my point (and I'm really not making this up). This weekend there was a little festival here in town, one of the non-profit groups with a booth set up to make money was the local chapter of the Diabetes Foundation. They were selling chocolate milkshakes. If they don't even get it, who will?

- This isn't an attack and i'm not trying to annoy you. I'm trying to make the point that sugar is AS BAD as heroin! Kel, there are probably 30 people at my work dying from sugar addiction. As a destructive drug, how can you not compare the two? And by the death count, how can you not agree that sugar is far more destructive than heroin.     - No doubt heroin is bad.....we certainly agree....but in sheer numbers, people who die from diabetes and its complications is uncomparable to heroin addics. And one fact remains. I've met you half-way w/ agreeing to buy the book since you seem to adamant to shove it down everyone's throat. I'll say it again: Sugar kills and causes suffering to many many millions more people than heroin each and every year. But because it's not written up on a police report, that makes it OK? My only bloody point is to read the friggin' book Sugar Blues where you would begin to understand that sugar IS more dangerous than heroin. But everybody here is SO fixated on going up or down a pound on the scale they miss the whole point.
