Subject: Body for LIfe

I am interested to read the posts about Body for Life. I found the book about six weeks ago and found it to be informative. I started the plan then. I have had to make modification to the diet part..........I tried his plan, six meals, but found that what works for me best is Atkins (three meals/day, no snacking).

Over the summer I have read every book I could find on eating plans.........Fit for Life, Suzanne Somers, Undiet, Eat more/weigh less, Picture perfect, you name it. I have tried each one and always come back to my Atkins plan.

I lost about 20 pounds on atkins and felt great, kept it off for over one year. But........since Xmas, I have put it all back on, with interest. I went through some stressful times, sickness, etc. (excuses, I know) and thought all this was a reason to eat, eat, eat..... I'm a binger!!

With the Body for Life plan, my only problem was the FREE day, I had good intentions of moderation, but they turn into all day binges (there goes my weekly progress). Sometimes those all day, turned to two and three days. But I always stick with the exercise. I reread the ATkins book and it describes me to a TEE, so I went backto that. Have to give away all that fruit, oatmeal, yogurt......oh well. Now I plan on one Free day per month, for a special occasion. I can't handle any more than that.

I know I thought, Do I want to commit to a 12 week plan? Then I figured, why not, at the end of 12 weeks I can be more toned, fitter and maybe a little thinner or I can be heavier, etc...............

I like the discipline of the plan. I made up weekly packets to keep all the charts organized. At the end of each week I write my thoughts, etc. I love the program. After six weeks I do feel more toned ( a few less jiggles). I plan to continue with a second challenge after the first is done.

I'd enjoy hearing others experiences with this program.
