Hi. I found that the low-fat whole wheat bread I buy at the grocery store has 14 carbs for two pieces so if I want a sandwich I load that up with meat and cheese. We also eat those tiny red potatoes at least once a week to break up the meal. I cut them into pieces and fry them in butter and garlic. Two have very few carbs and it sure is good with your protein. Sometimes I make homemade hash with lots of meat, some onions and some potatoes. My point is that if your hubby likes bread and potatoes you can still enjoy that for less carbs.
