This is going to be a little confusing, now that there are two of us here. Maybe we will need to start using an extra initial so that folks can tell us apart.

Anyway you are new here. What diet plan are you going to be following? Have you read any of the books? Protein Power, Dr Atkin's New Diet Revolution, Carbohydrate Addict's Diet, The Zone, The Schwarzbein Principle, Suzanne Somer's diet?

Reading one of these and deciding which diet you plan to follow is of course your first step.

It is pretty important to understand WHY the diet works, before you attempt it. Only by really understanding the science behind it can you ward off all the nay sayers you are likely to encounter. I think there will be fewer of them now since there have been so many news articles lately in favor of low carb.

But we are still going against the flow of the vast majority of our society. So knowing what you are doing is really important, we will be here to help answer your questions of course.

Anyway welcome aboard. You can do it. Many have started this diet weighing a lot more than you do (myself included) and many have gone all the way to goal (I'm not there yet, but still working at it). I've lost as much as 57 pounds, feel healthier and now am increasing my excercise to try and take off the rest of it.

Any questions you have, just ask them.
