1)Average weight in three months. Let's see I weighed 282 on March 16 2000. By June 24th I weighed 251.5. So average was about 10 pounds.

2)When is it best to weigh? Hmmm that depends on who you ask. If you are the type of person who can weigh every day and then average the weight for the week and call that your "true" weight, then it is best to weigh every day. On the other hand if you are one of those who freaks out about a temporary gain, it might be best to throw the scale away and never weigh at all. For me? I usually weigh every day and I usually get discouraged if it goes up, exault if it goes down. The encouragement of a low scale is balanced (for the most part) by the discouragement of a high number. My weight bounces around a lot so I'm getting to the point of (almost) deciding to throw it away.

3) The best excercises to do. Personally I prefer weight lifting. It builds muscle, causes human growth hormone to be released (if you do it right). Causes your body to be able to burn more calories even while at rest, and increases your metabolism. Having muscle helps you to keep the weight off long after you have stopped dieting and stopped working out. Aerobics (if done right) are supposed to help burn fat for hours afterwards, and you should do some of that too, but I feel like I get more bang for my buck with weight lifting.

4)Diet sodas that don't contain aspartame. Diet Rite soda is made with Splenda (they have several flavors). V8 diet splash (a juice) is made with Splenda, and you could also buy some club soda (water with bubbles) mix it with some sugar free syrup (like Torani) and make your own sodas.

5)I think there are lots of places on the web where you can find encouraging stories to keep you focused. Right on this web site you will find quite a few if you just ask. I've lost a maximum of 59 pounds doing this diet. My weight fluxuates so it isn't that low at the moment. Some others, like Shara have lost over a hundred. Shelly P. (who used to hang out here a lot) lost over 80.

If you need more than we can provide, do a search for "low carb" and you will find many sites of other people who have lost tons.

Anyway Welcome aboard Kelly, you will like it here.
