Wow yes that is a lot of body fat to lose! In a month? Sheesh that is a LOT. I bought one of those body fat scales (which aren't all that accurate) and I think I've only lost about 4 to 5 percent over about a year and a half maybe?

I'm not at the beginning of the diet though, I lost a lot of fat really quickly at the very beginning. I wasn't measuring it in percentages or even in tape measurements then, so I couldn't say how much I lost back then.

Your measure points are similar to mine, I added one for calf measurement and one for "just under the bra" which would be your bra size if you were buying a new one.

So you've lost 16 pounds and 2.4% body fat? That means you must be gaining a lot of muscle. You might have lost more "weight" if you had not worked out, but you might have lost some muscle along with the fat and you don't want to do that. Preserving (and increasing) your muscle is the best thing you can do for your body. It means that, unlike other people, if you at some point go off your diet (not that you will this is a way of life right?) you won't be as inclined to gain it all back immediately like so many people do.

The reason why a lot of people gain back faster than they have lost is that when they lose muscle while dieting, their body fat ratios are higher than before, there isn't as much active tissue to burn calories. That is why yo yo dieting usually leaves you fatter than you were before.

You are staving off that fate by excercising. Keep it up you are doing great!

And thanks for saying that my advice helped you make those choices. I couldn't even remember what I had said, I had to go to the archives to re-read what I might have said to you. I talk too much anyway, but glad to know that something I said was helpful.
