I don't know about too much protein. How many grams of protein are you eating? More than likely it is something else you are doing wrong. What do you eat in a day? Some times people believe they are eating low carb, and when you analyze their diet, they really are not. They have a particular food they believe to be low carb and are consuming it on a regular basis and it is causing the stall.

I myself believe that sometimes if you lose weight really rapidly at first, your body will slow down for awhile before starting to lose again. It also may have to do with how much weight you have to lose. Are you very overweight? or just a little? People who don't have a lot of weight to lose lose much more slowly on this plan (after the initial water weight losses).

Another thing to consider is how many calories are you consuming? Sometimes we start to limit calories so low that we are putting our bodies into starvation mode. A good rule of thumb for how many calories a day you should eat for weight loss is about 12 calories per pound that you currently weigh. If you eat way over or way under that amount, that could be the problem.

You should eat breakfast, and several small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism reved. The excercise you are doing is no doubt helping. Sometimes however you will hang on to more water during hot days and while excercising. This may make the scale stay a little high, even while your body composition is changing.

If you are in ketosis, then I wouldn't worry about it. Your body will soon decide to give up those extra pounds.

Regarding how much protein you should eat, Protein Power has a method for calculating all that out. Essentially he has a formula for calculating your "lean body mass" and once you have done that (determined how much of your body weigh is muscle and bone and organs rather than fat) you multiply that by a factor of .6 per pound of lean body mass. This results in the absolute MINIMUM amount of protein you should be eating every day in order to maintain your current muscle.

If you eat a lot more than that minimum you might be eating too many calories, if you eat less you might be sacrificing your muscle to your weight loss efforts (and you don't want to give up muscle).

The only way it is really possible to get too much protein for most people would be to be drinking those protien additive things. Most people will only eat as much protein as they are hungry for. But you should check and see how many calories you are consuming. That could be a factor.

More likely though your body is simply taking a brief respite from losing. They tend to NOT like to lose weight, fear starving and any sudden weight loss triggers a period of NO ability to lose weight for awhile. Be patient, it will start happening again assuming you are keeping your metabolism reved by eating enough, not too much, and are eating on a regular basis.
