Subject: Fashion Today

You know... it's one thing that's always bothered me, but more now than ever; today's fashions. Of course we all know that most of the fashions for women today are made form-fitting, slender, skin-tight, low-rise, etc. Those fashions are great for the 10% of the population that can wear them properly. But what about the rest of us? I don't weigh a ton, but I know better than to try and wear something that's going to show my midriff or belly. The last thing my belly is - is flat!

So because I don't have that skinny little body or flat belly, I'm forced to buy things that are not fashionable for the times? That's just plain ignorant. The fashion industry needs to look around -- do you see model-types all around or do you see mostly normally built or overweight people? Who in the heck is buying all these clothes that such a small portion of the population can fit into? Do the teenagers really have THAT much money to support such an industry? My goodness, I just think it might be a good idea to design some clothes that are fashionable and somewhere between the junior-section and Lane Bryant! Is that asking too much?

I'm going clothes shopping on Friday and I'm at a loss as to where to start looking for something that will be in fashion, yet still look good on my 140 (yes I made 140 today), 5'4" body. Any suggestions my friends?
