Most of us here who have tried CAD (myself included) have found it to be slower weight loss than some of the other plans. If you have the patience for it and can live with it, go for it. I occasionally use the CAD idea to keep myself somewhat on track in the low carb area on days when I just don't feel like dieting.

With CAD however you don't have the advantage of ketosis. This is an important consideration. You also don't have the advantage of killing your appetite for carbs that the other diets have. Carbs are sort of addicting, and when you eat them, you tend to want more. When you are eating them every day for dinner, it is sometimes harder to avoid them at other meals.

If this isn't a problem for you and you are losing weight, stick to it and hang in there. But realize that it does work more slowly than some of the others.

When I first started Atkins at about your weight, I lost 3 pounds in the first day, another pound and a half the next day, 2 the third etc. I mean it came off fast. I was down to 13.5 pounds off by the time a week and a half rolled around.

I'm telling you this, not to discourage you. But just to give you an idea between the difference between the speed the weight comes off with Atkins compared to CAD.

CAD is still great to know about, and to use to keep from gaining on days you know you will have to wind up eating things you normally wouldn't. If it is working for you, and you are happy with it, stick to it.

But if you come to this board and see others who are also just starting losing faster than you are, understand that there is a difference in the plans, and don't let it discourage you.
