Subject: Lynn the good news is that you are wrong. However, if you've been yo-yo dieting for some time, then your metabolism is going to need some time to catch up. I've been on the Atkins diet many times and it does work. I no longer follow Atkins (because I feel it is too radical and I stalled too often) more...
In reply to: Lynn A 's message, "The same happened to me. I lost 35 pounds once. Gained about 20 back. Now I can't lose on this way of life. I feel like you have one chance with it and if you blow it that's it. I hope I'm wrong!" on 04:55:21 07/16/02 Tue

There are other moderate LC diets out there. I encourage you to look into Protein Power, Schwarzbien Principle, sugar Busters or any of the other moderate LC plans. These are healthier ways of doing LC, and in my opinion, you don't feel as deprived. And the good news... no sticks!

I stalled wayyyy too much on Atkins. when I lost on Atkins, the loss was rapid, but it wasn't very often. Now I follow a plan similar to Protein Power and I consistently lose 1-2lbs a week. Its not the fastest in the world, but it IS effective and I DON'T stall, as long as I stay on plan. Besides, consider this... if you are losing more than 2lbs per week, you are losing more than fat -- you are losing muscle as well. This is something you DON'T want to lose. Do a web-search or go to Amazon.com to find the books I mentioned above. Good luck!
