I'm doing good. Don't go back to work until the 14th of April - YEAH!!! Had a bad night Sunday. Spent 3 hours with my head in the toilet. Not sure why. I am thinking I had to much creamy liquids. It was my day to move up from clear liquids to creamy liquids and I think I overdid it. But, let me tell you - if you think vomitting is horrible, try doing it with a lap band in place. PURE TORTURE! Just need to take it extra slow from now on. (I did send you all an e-mail about this just this morning). Plus, Neils sisters surgery is thursday for her leg to be removed. I got your email and thank you for sending it. But I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad night. Yup, I think you probably overdid it and it's going to be a learning curve for you on how much, how often and what you can now eat. She has been having major computer issues and her computer just kind of upped and died on her back in February....she finally found out that she has had some kind of worm/virus in it and is hoping to have it back and be back on line by the beginning of next week....

Hi guys, I'm home! Doing good, but tired and sore. Had a little problem 2 days after surgery. Some vomitting which isn't good. Had to go back for some IV meds twice but then was ok. Christine, Molly Ann must take her medication if you want her to get better. It's not always easy to catch our cats to give them their pills but you have to do it. If you can lure her into your room with the promise of playing with her (using a kitty wand with the tassle or something like that) and then you can quickly close the door. We've had to trap more than one cat to give medication. They don't understand but they will forgive you. But you might have to double team Molly Ann. Have your mother or your sister help you. But you can't just NOT give Molly Ann her pills simply because she doesn't want to be caught. (NT) -- Sandy, 12:06:58 pm, Fri, 03/28/08
Thanks U2. We only gave up on Wed. that was the only day. Yesterday she got one down when she ate her food but not the other one. I'm still trying to catch her since I been home from volunteering to give the pills to her. I want her well so bad and back to eating. Good news on that part she has been eating some. Boy Judi, you are exactly right.....I've definitely found with Maggie that I have to be calm...if I'm not and getting frusterated, she knows/feels my anxiety too and it just makes everything all that worse....I'm not having any real problems with the pilling, probably because I'm using the pill-pockets, but when it's time to go to the vet I know she can feel my anxiety about taking her and then she reacts accordingly!!

We're trying to get her allergies, whatever they are, under control. It's a chronic thing - she's licked all the fur off her abdomen and inner legs. Sad to say, I didn't even notice that until she turned up with allergies on and around her ears. I took her in for that, and the vet holds her up and says, how long has this been going on?, pointing to her tummy. Oops. At first she had to take an antibiotic along with the allergy med, and a topical antibiotic to wipe on her ears. The ears are good now, knock on wood. (more) -- Judi, 11:05:00 pm, Sat, 03/29/08

Denise, once again, you're reading my mind. There are days when I busier than others and this week has been one of them. That flu that I had knocked me for a loop in the stamina area and going to pool Tuesday night wiped me out. But I here, and I post. (while Gerry's upstairs washing the bathroom walls)(he took today off in honor of our anniversary, which is Sunday - - - - 24 years already!) And the first full week of April is full with two doctor's appointments, which will wipe me out. But I too get tired of asking where Vicki is! It's her board and no matter how busy she is, you'd think she could check in once a week or so. I've never heard of Yuku but I'm willing to try whatever you decide. I also must admit, and I've said as much to Kate, that there are a few lurkers that I'd love to get rid of ------ kind of "what's good for the goose is also good for the gander!" HI all! Just got hosuework done, yes, kind of late but Leon is gone and my best time of day is mid to late afternoon. Was getting a headache earlier so backed off the cleaning for a bit. I'm playing with a new Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I love it!!!! Got it hooked up last night but was tired and went to bed early so didn't have a chance to mess with it. Instead of having that little reciever thingy this has it's own USB port thingy. Good for up to 33 feet away, now I need a king sized monitor! How does any one go about catching a cat to wrap her up in a towel and give her pills? I been trying to catch Molly Ann this morning and it is so fusterating to no ends. I'm thinking about just taking her back to the vet and let her keep her and give her the pills. I got such a headache now. I'm thinking about it probably won't do it. Depends on the cat Christine! Some cats take pills better, others take liquid better but still, a cat is usually harder to pill than a dog. I don't have problems catching any of mine. Does she run and hide? She knows something is up! I'm not sure what med you were given but you could call the vet and ask if it can be mixed with food. Some can be crushed and liquid added and syinged into them. With some cats you just plain need two people. Wish I was able to help you! I actually get on my knees and put the cat between my knees so they can't back away. Some cats do better if you put them on a counter top, a surface theya ren't used to. Good luck. Kate ahd to pill Maggie recently and used Pill Pockets, have you seen these? It's a moist treat you wrap the pills in. If you do the pills alone, try a bit of butter on them, helps them slide down and tastes better. (NT) -- Denise, 8:28:18 pm, Wed, 03/26/08
I haven't heard of that. I will have to call my vet to see if they carry those. Or I might try the butter also if they don't carry that. Update on Molly Ann. I took her to vet tonight and just got home my sister took me. She has a slight heart mumer, a fever of 103 which that isn't good at all, They check every thing else and every thing turn out ok. Her white count was up a little. So glad you got her to the vet! I don't know what you feed her but maybe some canned cat food would help get her to eat? Did the vet check her teeth? When they have teeth problems they can go off food too. The canned would help if that was the case too. Hope the pilling goes easy. Some cats can be a real pain about it. Denise I tried wet food before for her and she didn't care for it at all. I told the vet that. She said to upgrade her food. I been feeding her GoodLife food. So now when I go grocery shopping I have to get her IAM's cat food. But she said to keep this other food still if she doesn't like the new brand of food. Vet told me that she has lost lot of weigh. I get home from WW tonight only to find a message from Dr. Lee...a message that I've been waiting for all day....oh well...the message did say that Maggie's thyroid was very low..and she was checking on how she was feeling now....

She couldn't believe the drastic way Maggie's system reacted to the meds......she said her levels went from 6 down to a 2 in too short of a time..and that it was good I caught all the warning signs/symptoms.....she asked how she is doing on the 1/2 dose and I told her she is definitley better than she was..but still may be laying around more than unusual, but is acting more like herself than before...so we are keeping her on the 1/2 dose for two more weeks then we'll take her back for another blood test...she said it may even have to be cut back a little further yet...

See, Kate? I figured something like that happened. And since you know the "normal" Maggie more than anyone else in the world, it's a good thing you're so much in tune with her. Now you just have to wait and see what her blood levels will be like in two weeks. And I have to chuckle about your "hard to understand" thing. Yup, I run into that all the time. She is acting a little strange..but definitely better than she was....problem is, for awhile now she was kind of spastic the way she played and ran around...I had no idea it was because of the hyperthyroidism...we just thought she loved her catnip mice....so, now she is acting a little more reserved, and the catnip mice aren't interesting her anymore...but now I'm not sure if she is acting more like "herself" or if maybe she is still a little sluggish from the meds...know what I mean?
so, for right now I'm comfortable giving her the 1/2 dose until we go back on the 8th...but believe me, if I see any more drastic changes I'll be calling them immediately!! (NT) -- Kate, 7:49:25 pm, Tue, 03/25/08
We run into more problems like this when our pets have aged too. Sometimes we don't know what might be age realted when it comes to their activity levels etc. Also don't know if achey joints might be part of their slowing down either. Hi guys, it's me, Mona!!! Hey, what is going on with Leon? Why are you 2 at Mayo? Is he ok? Kate, how about Maggie, she ok? Well, I am great. What an adventure we've had! All been fun and exciting. I'm about 2 hours out of surgery and feel great! Been doing my laps around thecenter and will probably go back to the hotel tonight instead of staying here. Their beds at the hotel are wonderful!!!!!!!!!! Eveywhere I have gone, they have been so wonderful and geneours and sweet. I sure lucked out coming here. All went well yesterday. They had 3 computers in our waiting area so I could pop in here and also check email! That was nice. We had an uneventful drive home, it was a long day though. Got home and within minutes Dolly threw up. I thought I saw something on Lexi's rear, checked her, she was poopy so needed a bath. While at it gave Livi and Molly one too. Being home an hour I'd cleaned up puke, give 3 baths and cleaned litter boxes! I was ready for bed! We won't know anything about Leon's results till Thursday. Thanks for thinking of us! I'm amazed and horrified that this is happening again. I think we have to face the fact that the people in the "golden offices" have no idea what's actually going on in the manufacturing plants. It is absolutely remarkable the difference in Maggie today....
I gave her just 1/2 pill this morning and she was a little lethargic first thing in the morning,, but let me tell you what, as the day has gone on she is doing so much better..acting more like her oldself, even playing and giving me her belly for belly rubs.....It's like a 100% turnaround as to how she has been the past few days.....

She may not be metabolizing the meds right so it's building up in her system. It's one of those things that in people we can tell the dsoc how we feel so they know to check levels but with our kids we just have to go by how we know them to be and we DO know these things. I'm glad she is feeling better. Did you say they took blood again and you will know Monday? What were her other labs numbers like? All in range? Yes, they took blood for a Thyroid T4 test yesterday...we should hear on Monday (providing the labs were open this weekend....and she thought they were...)I honestly don't know about her other levels for sure, but I'm pretty sure Dr. Lee said that everything else looked good, so I'm assuming she meant all were within range....I guess we'll wait and see what Dr. Lee says on Monday..but boy, like I said, she is doing so much better today, I hate to even think about putting her back on the full dose...I know if her thyroid levels aren't right that is bad for her..but gees, is it really worth it to have her levels "where they belong" and have her so ill and unhappy..?? Rick and I have really been watching her today, and we both agree, she is not as puffy today....yesterday she looked like a kitty on steriods..she was actually bloated....but today that is all gone and again, she looks more like herself in that respect also....plus when I picked her up today, I swear she is not as heavy as she was yesterday...and you know, even if that is water weight that can't be good for her either..no wonder she acted so uncomfortable...with that extra pressure on her heart and organs..it had to be hard for her to breathe or to find a comfortable spot to lay down...... Kate, I understand where you're coming from in that you don't want to go against Dr. Lee's advice but since there's been such a dramatic change in Maggie (both downhill and then back to her normal self on the reduced dosage) I'd just make sure you talk with Dr. Lee and make sure she understands exactly where you're coming from. But.......and that's a big but.......ultimately, we have to do what we believe is right for our animals. If Maggie's looking better, acting better and is more like her old self on 1/2 the dose, then I wouldn't feel guilty about halving the dosage. An example: when I found that my thyroid was underactive, I was put on Synthroid. After getting the dosage regulated, I expected this huge "ZOOM" of energy. That never happened. Oh, sure, the medication took care of the other serious symptoms I was having but not in the way I expected. So do what *you* feel is right. You know Maggie better than anyone. I know what you are saying about expecting/hoping to have a huge surge when you started your meds for your thyroid Sandy...but my main problem is Maggie was acting fine, eating fine and using the litter box just fine and playing and down right acting normal UNTIL we started the meds..it was then she started acting sick.....so really outside of the weight loss I don't think Dr. Lee would have even checked her thyoid....Maggie gave us absolutely no indication in her actions that there was anything wrong.... SMARTYPANTS!!!!!!!!! Had lots of work to do to get ready. I'm trying to get all my bills paid, the house clean, stock up on cats stuff, all that junk that goes with it. So, is Gerry as sick as you were? With all the different flu's not everyone is as ill as others can be. Something for you all to check into is the homeopathic flu remedies. If I even think I might have something coming on I take these little ampules of tiny balls that taste like a sugar pill. 3 doses of that over a day or day and a half and we don't get sick. There is also natural flu meds for taking in place of flu shots. You take one a week for several weeks and it's made each year for the most comon flu going around. Oh, and Kate? Do you remember about 3 weeks ago when the screen on my phone went out? I'd used my phone while I was sitting in the tub and even though I'd dried my hands and face, apparently some moisture still got into the phone and it made the screen blank out? Well, I'd gone to the Verizon store and they swapped out my handset for another. Okay, fine. But the new handset sounded like crap. The ring was *tinny* sounding and I never could get the volume to sound good on the phone. So last Friday, we went back to the store and they tried to swap my handset out again, except they didn't have any more phones like mine in stock. So they ordered one on line for me. Well, it came Wednesday afternoon and I got it activated on line, downloaded all of my contacts to the new phone and I'm back in business, with a brand new phone ---- AGAIN. We also had Cricket in for a depo shot last Friday and Dr. Snyder asked us if we were up to trying some Eastern/Chinese medicine for him. Since we've tried everything else without much success, we said sure. So, starting next Friday, the 28th, we're going to start Cricket on organic mushrooms. We'll (in other words......me) have to put him on a small amount of canned/moist food and add one little spoonful of the mushrooms into his food. No one knows if this will work for him and even if it does, we're not sure how well it might work. Even if we can space his depo shots out so that it's longer in between times, we'll be better off so I can't wait to see if it makes a big or small difference........or none at all. YEP! This should be interesting! I know one time I told you about Transfer Factor, an immune booster. Update on Chicory: Ken had Chicory in to the vet two days ago for a glucose check. He tested in at 42 and normal is between 80-120, so he was way too low. So Dr. Snyder wants to see Chicory for another all-day glucose test to see where his levels are at the various times of day. He said it may very well be that Chicory can be managed by diet alone and he'll be able to come off of the insulin, which would be wonderful. We're keeping our fingers crossed here.........! He's eating the Purina d/m brand. Ken's got 3 cats and with his schedule, it's really hard for him to feed separately but he's been managing. But his cats, like mine, eat dry and this is what the vet told him to use. Said that since the melamine thing, they would no longer sell him the SD prescription diet for diabetes because the SD was involved in the recall. Well we are home and Maggie didn't evade us too badly this morning...she isn't exactly happy with us..but she'll get over it!!
Dr. Lee took blood and will get back to me on Monday with the results...and we are cutting her dosage in half until then....
She thought she looked well, but was kind of surprised, Maggie gained 1.1 lbs in two weeks.....she didn't exactly come right out and say it, but she seemed to think that was quite a bit of weight, especially since we have not given her any more than her usual amounts.... Over a pound in just two weeks??!! Wow!! Yep, that's a good amount of weight to gain in that short a length of time, especially since you didn't change her food habits. It's too bad that you have to wait until Monday for the results on her blood test. But I think it's a great testament to you as a good, observant owner that you caught the subtle changes in Maggie's behavior so quickly and got her in for more blood work. Now to just wait and see what's going on. And I'm sure that, now that you have Maggie back home again, she's going to forgive and forget quickly. Wow, Karen, you've been really busy. I went to your website several weeks ago, just to see what you'd done to it since the last time I was there. My goodness, woman, how pretty your site is. And you do such great work. It takes a great deal of talent to get a good photo, at least of people, because we tend to tighten up and freeze, but you make it look effortless. I'd think that doing the animals at the vet's office should be a lot of fun, especially since the cats, dogs, etc. more than likely take direction better than people do. Had a nice talk with Dr. Lee this evening....she was kind of concerned when I told her that Maggie had thrown up last night and how she still acting....I think she thought the "tiredness" would've gone away..but tonight when I told her that she just doesn't seem like herself and won't play at all and just doesn't seem interested in anything she decided she'd better see her....so we have an appointment tomorrow at 9:30... BTW incase you don't see it below..I've got another call into Dr. Lee....I did some more checking on the meds they've given her for the hyperthyroidism and it said that some cats do have trouble tolerating the pill, and the side affects include lethargy and vomiting....she is just not herself, and now last night she did throw up...it said to alleviate these symptoms to start them out on a low dose, well she is already on just 5 mgs..so I'm going to see if Dr. Lee will ok me cutting the pill in half or just giving it to her every other day....something is just plain wrong with her....so can't wait to hear from Dr. Lee tonight.... I'm sorry, I'm just so busy. Surgery is still scheduled for Monday and I cannot believe how much I have to do! Just trying to get everything done so when I get home I can relax. Hi guys....It will be two weeks on Friday since I started Maggie on the meds for the hyperthyroid......she definitely looks better, her eyes are really alert and her coat is as shiny and full as I've ever seen it...but she doesn't seem to be acting like herself....she is eating fine, going to the bathroom as usual and sleeping on my lap at night as usual....but she seems a little more tired than she had been...she hasn't been playing as much....any idea, could this just be as a result of still getting her thyroid levels where they belong? Kate, I don't have any quick ideas for you here since I've never dealt with this. But I really do think that if you're concerned enough to mention it (and I know you love Maggie so much), you need to call your vet and ask. I did call Dr. Lee's this morning, she said that since it's only going on two full weeks of the meds it's probaby due to her body/system still getting the levels corrected the way they should be..she said not to be concerned especially when I told her how beautiful and full her coat is and how alert her eyes are....she said as long as this continues and she is eating and using the litter box as usual then things are going fine... It's been a year since the Pet Food Recall, and this date is only when the recall became official. The weeks preceding the recall are filled with stories of people who mysteriously lost pets due to kidney and liver failure. Half of my feral colony happened to disappear during those weeks. I cannot help but believe that the events are connected. I'm heading outside to sit in the sun. It's currently 72 and sunny with a nice breeze and just an all round *perfect* day. The housework is chugging along so I don't feel badly about taking some time to sit outside. We're supposed to cool off tomorrow with rain coming in by Friday and again for most of next week. Not much else going on here. The kitties are all doing great, even Cricket, and Ken says that Chicory is doing so well, he can't believe it. The only down side is I lost my pool match last night against a guy that I normally beat very easily. I don't know what the problem was but I just couldn't get my rhythm going and wasn't getting any leave at all. Oh, well, maybe next week. I hope everybody is having a decent hump day. We managed to make it to 74 totally luscious degrees and it felt great to sit on the picnic table and soak up the sun. Such a warm and toasty feeling. Spring may finally be here, at least for a couple of days. Our high today should be 68 and tomorrow - - - - - 71!!!! I can hardly wait to get the windows open and have the house smell so good. I can't believe how the people in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio got dumped on with all that snow. I'm glad I don't live there 'cause they'd have to lock me up. We're already into grass fire season because the top 2-3 inches of the ground is dry. I had my regular hook-in this past weekend and then with the time change, it kinda knocked me for a loop. But I sure like the fact that it's lighter, later now. But having to go through that clock changing thing always messes with my body clock. I wish we could stay with daylight savings time year round. Good Sunday morning! It is incredibly windy here today. Even the cats seem very uneasy with it and are hanging close to me. Got a new compact digita camera. A panasonic TZ3. I love it! I'm sorry for being a little "vacant" this week. For whatever reason, I'm just feeling a little out of sorts in some ways and it's making me edgy. As for the sleeping thing, yeah, I've got a prescription for Ambien but I hate to take it. You're supposed to plan for having 7 to 8 hours for sleep so I can't take it at midnight or 1 a.m. and be able to get up at 5. What's happening is that I'm pretty sure I doze off but then wake up again within a few minutes and absolutely cannot get back to sleep. I'm relieved and glad for you that if (and that's a big IF) Maggie had to have a problem, it turned out to be something easily treatable like hyperthyroidism. I always wish there were a way to explain to them that you're doing it for their own good. My Synthroid is probably the only medication I take that I don't *mind* taking. My entire family runs on the low side of the thyroid and we're all on Synthroid. About 12 years ago, I was having some really bad symptoms and thought I was in early menopause. Turned out to be my thyroid. And once I got on the pills, boy, I sure felt better so I hope the same goes for Maggie and getting her on the right dosage for her. She really will feel better. I was hopig with Reba that is was thyroid cause it's so easily treated. The pills are small so that helps. WIth Jaz was on Lasix it was a small pill too. I out him the counter top, opened his mouth and tossed it in. He never spit one back out. He was so good! I've never tried the pill pockets and I have some cats that don't take treats so it wouldn't work for some but I think that's worth a try! Good luck! Bogie and Reba had labs today. Bogie's main issue is protein in his urine I need to mess with his diet. Even his cushings test was great, the best we've seen since dx and stopping treatment. The kidneys aren't damaged so I just need to make his diet so he is able to process the protein instead of it being flushed out in his urine. Any other elevated numbers could be related to this so this is the first step. Also a round of meds for possible UTI, there was blood but whilte count was OK so this is precautionary. I thought Reba might have thyroid issues, weight gain, hungrier than normal, shedding but thyroid was ok so we are aiming at her diet too, will add digestive enzymes to start and I've been researching dog foods lately anyway and might find one that would be better for her. I couldn't get out of the house this morning. Was supposed to be there at 8 and didn't get out of the house till then. I cut Reba's toenails and got a bleeder and couldn't make it stop. Since Bogie and Reba had to be fasting I knew Lex and Liv could wait but had to check Molly and she read LOW sugar, scared me and I couldn't leave with her low ! Thankfully I retested and got a decent number and knew she could wait to eat and have her shot too. Wasn't home 10 minutes and got a call that Mom had fallen and needed to go to the ER. She couldn't move her lft arm. I had to feed these dogs and get insulin in them so DIL took her. She broke it! ARGH!!!!! It's been a day I would rather have just skipped! We must have a look on our face when we go after them! I've thought about this and I think for mine it's because the only time I walk at them and intend to pick them up it's to "go" or to be held and medicated. They all come to me and with so many I am never catless so theya re leary of ME coming to THEM. Hope her labs are good. Actually a little weight loss in a senior cat is more likely due to kidney issues than thyroid. Crea (creatinin) is on the blood work but protein, specific gravity, protein/phos levels on a UA show kidney issues. There can be kidney issues like protein in the urine BEFORE it shows up on blood work cause when blood work shows a problem it's usually when there is already damage or disease. We managed to miss all of the snow overnight and this morning but got a lot of rain last night. Earlier, my sump pump was coming on 3-4 times every 30 minutes but now it's down to twice an hour. But it's cold. When that front rolled through, we dropped over 20 degrees in an hour. The snow on the backside of the front stayed to the south of us and for that, I'm grateful. But our temp right now is 29 and I want back yesterday's high of 71. I've got spring fever so badly. But I talked with my MIL yesterday and she said that the snow in Maine is up to the bottom of her kitchen window and they'd just gotten another foot and a half!! Kate, on The Weather Channel this morning, they actually mentioned St. Mary's, PA. Said that for tomorrow, you're due for "significant icing." It's possible that you could get an inch or more. I'm praying that it doesn't happen since we've been there already this season and a lot of our power outages weren't resolved for about 3 weeks. Ya just gotta love Kansas weather. Very windy again today and it was still/already 67 when I got up. Now we're at 71, which was our high yesterday but..........by this afternoon, we're supposed to be getting thunderstorms, followed by rain into tonight and we're in a winter weather advisory for late tonight into tomorrow. Supposedly we're expecting 1 - 3 inches of heavy, wet snow. At least for right now, we've worn the kitties out and they're all sleeping. The windows are all open and they've done their racing and running, acting like total spazzes and picking on eachother. Joey's done nothing but hiss and snarl at Biscuit and Emme. It's going to be a very lazy day. We had a late breakfast while we were reading the paper and now I'm headed off for a long, relaxing soak in the tub. This morning started out windy and the snow we got was causing visability problems but it's all settled down and the sun is out but still cold enough to not be melting. I would like to get out but I ehar the roads are covered and slick so I will stay put. Cleaned the cat rooms this morning, was behind from so many headaches and I feel better having that job done. I am in a litter dilema. No matter what I try, I have litter dust everywhere. And with 9 cats, thats a lot! So, I've tried wheat litter, corn litter, pine litter, newspaper litter, and either they were even MORE dusty or the cats wouldn't use it. So, the only one I haven't tried is the crystal type of litter. I haven't tried because it seems to me the litter has sharp edges around the tiny pieces and I worry that would cut or be very uncomfortable on a cats paws. It seems to me to be like a person walking barefoot on stones. Has anyone used it and would recommend it? What do you think? There are a lot of people who just upped and disappeared and I always wonder if they got tired of the board, if their computers fried and they can't remember the URL (or how to do a search) or if they're so incredibly busy (and there really is NO such thing as being "that" busy) that they just don't have the time. But then again, that means that those of us who are here, are here because we *want* to be. As for the litter issue, I hear ya about the dust. We use Exquisicat that we get at Petsmart. It comes in 40 pound boxes (scoopable) and we go through a lot. But yep, it's dusty. I work my way through the basement with the vacuum and the furniture brush, trying to suck it all up. Cjheck out Litter Pearls, I think that one is round balls, shouldn't have sharp edges. I have one box with the corn cob litter in it. Someone uses it each day but it ahsn't caught on wih the others. It isn't dusty and it tracks less even though it's lighter weight than regular scoopable. I only notice the dust in Goldies room where it's enclosed. There is dust in all the ridges of the door and it's a mess but the other boxes are in the basement and I don't notice it so much. I was going to post one of these days and ask what litter everyone was using now. Happy Friday. Survived my dental appointment yesterday without any problems. My hygenist says I'm doing an excellent job of keeping the tartar at bay and have done a good job brushing. Now I only have one more appointment to make (for my osteoporosis screening, which I don't mind, since all I have to do is lay on a table) and then I'm caught up on medical stuff. We're headed for a beautiful and sunny 50 degrees today and the weather guy is saying that we'll make it to 66 tomorrow before another cold front comes through. WOW!!! A Saturday at 66 degrees??? The screen on my phone blanked out yesterday. I had taken it into the bathroom with me since I knew Gerry would call while I was soaking in the tub but I made sure that I had completely dried my hands, face and hair. But apparently I didn't dry off quite well enough. When I hung up with Gerry, my screen was blank and white. Once I got out of the shower, I used my blow dryer on it and managed to get the inside screen to come back up but then it disappeared again. So when I picked Gerry up from work, we went to the Verizon store to see what could be done. And what fantastic customer service we got. They exchanged my phone for a new one, no questions asked, and even moved all of my contacts over to the new phone for me so I wouldn't have to do it when we got home. I've got the LG8600. And I know you're right about the moisture. Since I was still sitting in the tub, even though I'd dried everything off, I think my hair was still wet enough to put moisture into the phone. I could actually see what appeared to be water inside the screen. That's why I was jumping for joy when the screen wallpaper came back as I dried it with the blow dryer. But then it disappeared again. I'm just so happy that I didn't have to buy another phone. As for your battery, I'll bet the new one helps. Batteries, in my experience, only last about a year to a year and a half. After that, you might as well replace 'em. But you're due in May, right? Only two more months?? Getting excited yet??? I did call the doctors' office this morning though...I never gave it a thought on Wednesday when I was there, but my fingers are completely numb when I wake up in the morning, I have no idea if this has anything to do with my BP or with the Raynaud's but thought I'd better let him know.... Your BP this morning was great!! But I don't think I ever feel caught up on the medical stuff. Since October, I've had my mammogram, blood pulled twice, two visits with my internist, two with the rheumatologist, and just this week was the GYN and the dentist. Once I get my osteoporosis scan done, it'll be time to see the internist and the rheumatologist again. So it never stops. Yes April (the girl at the doctor's office) called me back this afternoon....I guess he doesn't feel the numbness in my fingers has anything to do with my BP or the meds....and he didn't feel it was anything to be overly concerened about...that it was due possibly to the way I sleep, which is entirelly possible, or due to my Raynaud's and if not those two things...I've also got Carpal Tunnel in both wrists...so it's probably a combination of all of the above!! yes, this is really good, especially for me..but then it usually is pretty good when I take it here at home....it's just when I go to the darn doctor that it likes to spike....like I told Dr. Stokes....he's looking at me not knowing why on earth it was so high and I said , yep, it's high, but could you just imagine what it would be like if I didn't like him as my doctor..then it really would be high!!! I still think it's amazing how we can now treat conditions in cats that previously we wouldn't have even considered.......and we're treating them with human medications.
