Hey guys........ that old PP Calendar was linked to my digitaldune e-mail from 2 years ago, so I didn't get the notice to keep it activated. I can't remember the log-in or password to save my life anyway, and when I asked for them... well, they got mailed to an e-mail I no longer have. I just clicked into the bridge web cam in Maine near the town where Gerry grew up. What a beautiful morning in Maine!!! All of 48 degrees and the sky is clear. I love being able to sit here and watch the tide go out but just can't get over the brilliant red of the leaves on the trees. This is the time of year when I get a little homesick for Maine but believe me, once the snow flies, I'm perfectly happy to be where I am. I just can't deal with all that snow. An ethical question for the group................I've already asked Gerry and know what his response was. But I wanted to ask the people here what their opinion is. Someone who was a friend has broken a promise to me. This person said they would never do this one thing to me and he/she has now done it anyway. It was done in a roundabout manner but the end result is the same. Since the original promise has been broken, do you feel that I am still obligated to keep a promise to him/her? What a beautiful morning. It's only 50 degrees and there's not a cloud in the entire state. The stars were so bright this morning, I felt like I could reach out and touch them. It's supposed to warm up later and get close to 80 but I'm sure enjoying these cooler mornings right now. And the cats love them. They sniff and snort at the open windows. Happy Monday! After having a very warm and humid day yesterday, the cold front came through this morning at 3 a.m. with lots of rain, thunder and lightning. And boy, did it cool off!! We're at 56 now and the sun's coming out for a beautiful fall day. I was beginning to wonder if the fall temps would ever arrive, since it's been so warm lately. Travis has his last football game this evening and since Gerry has a meeting at the Legion, I'm having Punkie pick me up so I can go with them. I told her that I'd treat them to dinner after the game. His game starts at 5:30 and the weather should be perfect for football......cool and clear. I hope everybody has a great start to their week. Checking in real quick....... this week has been CRAZY! I worked Monday, Thursday and today. Bottle feeding the 4 orphan kittens and taking care of Kritters at home. I'm TIRED! Flo showed up and kicked my butt as well. One of the babies got really sick and had to make an emg. vet trip. Danny had to take her cuz I was the only one at work. Vet suspects URI and she's on meds. Also trying to get stuff situated so we can go out of town tomorrow. My friend in San Diego is paying for us to come visit and we're having a lil party for Danny at the Dog Beach. His 45th birthday is tomorrow! Just got home from work, and have a ton of laundry to do for the kittens. Have I mentioned I'm tired?! Getting up every few hours to bottle feed was never a big deal till I started working. Now I can't catch a nap in between feedings!! Luckily I can take the babies to work to feed them tho. Happy crappy Tuesday! I had another bad night last night and am so tired this morning, I can hardly keep my eyes open. But the housework and wafting kitty fur goes on.............therefore, so must I. The weather may dictate a change in my schedule today, though. We're supposed to get severe storms this afternoon so I may have to take my shower earlier than normal to avoid lightning problems. Have a good day, everybody. My FIL's tests came back. The cancer is in his bone marrow and lungs. He's also not tolerating the chemo. They had to stop to build his blood cells back up, then will try radiation. Happy Friday.........and boy, am I happy to get through this week. We sure didn't do much but it feels like the week was long and slow. But now we have another weekend to enjoy. I could use a few good thoughts for Cricket and Biscuit. As soon as Gerry comes home from work, we're taking both of them to the vet. Cricket needs another depo-medrol shot and Biscuit is overdue for his final distemper shot in his kitten series. I didn't want to have them giving him any shots when he was sick with that intestinal thing so we're just going to get that taken care of now. But then, no more shots, except for Cricket, of course. I have had the worst insomnia the last 3 nights!!! Last night...er... this morning it was after 5 when I finally fell asleep! Thank goodness Danny was home to get up with the dogs this morning, so I could sleep in a wee bit. Got up around 8:30ish. Feel like I have a hangover! I'm going over to my new place of work today to check things out. I start next week. Found out I'll be working 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. a couple days a week to start..... YIKES! LONG day...... so I better get my days and nights turned back around ASAP!!!! Otherwise my boss will come in and find me napping with the dogs in the kennels! Danny has filed for unemployment, but we haven't heard back if he's getting it or not yet. He's got a job interview on Tuesday out at the Army base for a civilian, vehicle testing job of some sort. He'd be stocking ammunition and testing tracked vehicles. It's an 80 mile commute, and a 50% cut in pay, but at least it's work. Happy Hump Day! It's a beautiful morning but it's going to get hot and humid later. I'm so ready for fall but the temps for the next week or so are going to keep us in summer mode. There's just no way to consider the upper 80's and 90+ fall. Not much going on around here. Gerry and I both have our "new" doctor appointments coming up Friday morning but for today and tomorrow, it's still the "same old, same old." Oh, and before I forget, Biscuit is growing like a weed. It's amazing to see how much bigger he's gotten in a month. He's sure gotten the other cats moving, though. I was watching him chase Emme and Snowy through the house last night and there are times when he even gets Cinnamon up and going. Just got back from the hospital..... So far they've found several ulcers in dad's stomach and his small intestine. They are waiting on more tests. We're not sure what the treatment is going to be, or how bad they are. He's on a liquid diet till they get things figured out. He is tired, but his color is good.... he was gray from blood loss. Thanks for the prayers everyone!Dad's doctor came in with some test results today. He has a malignant tumor in his abdomen. More tests will need to be done to determine if it's spread or not. Need prayers for my FIL. He was rushed to the hospital this morning vomiting and passing black tar.... which means blood. He had to receive a blood transfusion. He's in a room and resting. They'll run more tests tomorrow... They are thinking he may have a bleeding ulcer. I feel SO bad for Danny. Losing his job and now this.
