I know I haven't been around much. But I get to a fun bike ride tomorrow. (nm) -- Christine (Molly Ann mom), 11:31:02 am, Fri, 03/07/08
Ya just gotta love Kansas weather. Very windy again today and it was still/already 67 when I got up. Now we're at 71, which was our high yesterday but..........by this afternoon, we're supposed to be getting thunderstorms, followed by rain into tonight and we're in a winter weather advisory for late tonight into tomorrow. Supposedly we're expecting 1 - 3 inches of heavy, wet snow. At least for right now, we've worn the kitties out and they're all sleeping. The windows are all open and they've done their racing and running, acting like total spazzes and picking on eachother. Joey's done nothing but hiss and snarl at Biscuit and Emme. It's going to be a very lazy day. We had a late breakfast while we were reading the paper and now I'm headed off for a long, relaxing soak in the tub. I hope everybody else is having a decent day and getting some time to relax. (NT) -- Sandy, 11:21:06 am, Sun, 03/02/08
Happy Friday. Survived my dental appointment yesterday without any problems. My hygenist says I'm doing an excellent job of keeping the tartar at bay and have done a good job brushing. Now I only have one more appointment to make (for my osteoporosis screening, which I don't mind, since all I have to do is lay on a table) and then I'm caught up on medical stuff. We're headed for a beautiful and sunny 50 degrees today and the weather guy is saying that we'll make it to 66 tomorrow before another cold front comes through. WOW!!! A Saturday at 66 degrees??? I can surely agree with that. Spring is a'coming and I can't wait. (NT) -- Sandy, 8:02:14 am, Fri, 02/29/08
I entered Kiki in the Tulsa's Motophoto cutest pet contest -- Sasha's Mom (Crystal, Kiki, Bobbi and Sasha (Rainbow angel), 2:36:43 pm, Mon, 02/25/08
How cute!!! Love the one with the tiara, but have to say the one with her wearing the pink glasses is also priceless!!! (NT) -- Kate, 8:16:50 pm, Mon, 02/25/08
Finally!! Happy Friday!! It looks like the sun will finally come out this afternoon, which will be so nice. Our storm turned out to be a dusting of sleet with maybe 1/2 inch of snow but it's cold. I'm hoping that with the sun finally showing itself, it might melt off the driveway and the sidewalk, since there wasn't enough to shovel or even broom off. Tomorrow's my big hook-in in Lenexa and I'm so excited to go, especially since I know that the roads won't be a factor. And by Sunday, our high is supposed to be around 50+ so the snow piles will be melting too. It just feels like it's been a long week with one storm after another coming through. And a big thank you to La Nina for all of these storms. I hope everybody's having a good Friday and is ready to rumble for the weekend. (NT) -- Sandy, 11:40:25 am, Fri, 02/22/08
Just a quick post this morning........I'm getting to the point where I hate the running involved in Tuesdays, thanks to pool. Anyway, if you can spare a quick prayer today for my sister, I'd appreciate it. Truth is.........Susie and I haven't gotten along too well since I discovered years ago that she was taking liberties with Dad's checking account in the year before he died. But she's going into surgery at 1 p.m. today to lose her lower leg. I've talked with her several times and she was rather accepting until yesterday, when all she could do is cry. So if you could say a quick prayer for her, I'd appreciate it. (NT) -- Sandy, 8:55:29 am, Tue, 02/19/08
Any word Sandy on how Susie made out? (NT) -- Kate, 9:49:12 am, Wed, 02/20/08
PS...I know what I meant to ask too...how is Chicory doing? Hope things are getting regulated for him?? (NT) -- Kate (again), 10:02:19 am, Thu, 02/14/08
Awww...Denise....thinking of you and Jazz..... (NT) -- Kate, 9:59:26 am, Thu, 02/14/08
Happy Tuesday. It's been kinda quiet around here lately so at least I hope everybody's doing something they enjoy. It's still cold today, although I was sure we were having a heat wave when I got up this morning, since the temp was out of the single digits........LOL. And it's sunny!! I sure feel a lot better in general when that light is out there. Pool is tonight so I'm running around like crazy to get the housework done but I've also got a Fibromyalgia Support Group meeting at 6. The timing will mess things up a bit but I'm going to try and do it all. I hope everyone's having a decent day. (NT) -- Sandy, 8:45:41 am, Tue, 02/12/08
I'll make a deal with you guys.... send me some of your cold weather, and I'll send you some of our warm! We went from 60 and windy to 83 in just a couple days! While 83 is great, I'm just not ready for it to be this warm THIS early in the year!!
Mini update.... We're all doing well. Scooby is not fitting in well. Danny is still working nights, and Scooby moans and cries and carries on when I leave for work at 6:30, and won't let Danny sleep. Danny gets home around 3:30 a.m., so most mornings that's when I'm UP for the day.... then working 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m... I am a TIRED puppy! Still have to come home and take care of everyone here without any help too. I'm off tomorrow, but have a million errands and a lot of calling to do for my Petsmart adoption shifts. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm with all these freak winter storms!!!!!!!!!! (NT) -- V~, 8:17:12 pm, Wed, 02/06/08
We had a gorgeous day today! 73 degrees and breezy. It was a perfect day for all the errands I had to run!! Hope everyone is staying warm and safe!! (NT) -- V~, 9:18:29 pm, Thu, 02/07/08
How cute. And isn't it amazing that we can love something so much and our cats, faced with the same situation, could go on a rampage? I hope Kiki enjoyed her "spa day" although it doesn't sound like she did. Watch out for that hairball, Crystal. She'll get you good when you least expect it. (NT) -- Sandy, 11:50:49 am, Wed, 01/30/08
I've barely even been home in days! Between work, and trying to visit with my MIL as she is very lonely... So much going on here. Had to fire a volunteer who stepped WAY over the line... Took another Dane into rescue. He's HUGE! His back comes up to my waist... he's 39 inches and almost 200 pounds, and only a year old! Unfortunately, he has really bad hips tho... Danny's working nights this week, and I'm working 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow, the half day Wednesday, and have a meeting with the Humane Society on Thursday, then working Friday and Saturday. Been a busy bee! (NT) -- V~, 2:46:00 pm, Mon, 01/28/08
Boy that was a rambling mess.......... I have pics to post of the rescue, but my stupid server changed some things and I can't view my directories any more... and I can't remember exactly what I called the pics when I uploaded them... but will try to get them in the next few days. I won't get home till close to 6:30 tonight, and have to feed everyone and do litter boxes, etc., and Danny comes home at 4 a.m., which will wake me up... so I'm going to try to get to bed as early as possible tonight! (NT) -- V~, 2:51:45 pm, Mon, 01/28/08
I'm home and I'm exhausted. On the one hand, I have the computer all to myself (usually Danny hogs it in the evenings), but on the other hand, I'm beyond tired! Going to drag my tired tushy to bed!!! (NT) -- V~, 7:38:27 pm, Mon, 01/28/08
Another computer problem.............. msg. -- V~, 12:48:19 pm, Tue, 01/29/08
Denise, I'm glad too that you posted Jaz's story. I had no idea how he had come to be yours but believe me, after reading this, you've really climbed up the ladder several notches in my eyes. I agree with Kate in the "you go, girl!" What you did for Jaz was nothing short of spectacular and even though he's in heaven now, I know he'll wait with all of the others for you to come and rub his belly. And I hope Jaz will say hello and give a chin scritch to Bat, Simon, Mouse, Lilac, Checkers, Meggie, Holly and especially Squeegee. Tears for you, my friend. (NT) -- Sandy, 1:13:29 pm, Sat, 01/26/08
Oh Denise I'm so sorry about Jaz. But this is a sweet story on how you got him. Even so I never posted you and Jaz has been in my prayers. I know how it feels to lose a pet. My heart goes out to you hun. (nm) -- Christine (Molly Ann mom), 8:59:57 pm, Sun, 01/27/08
Oh D, I'm so so sorry poor Jaz didn't make it. Thinking of you honey. He found his Guardian Angel when he found you. You gave him 8 wonderful years that he wouldn't have had otherwise. {{HUGS}} (NT) -- V~, 2:40:39 pm, Mon, 01/28/08
Denise, I'm wondering how you're doing today? I know the grief is so fresh and raw but please know that we're all thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way. (NT) -- Sandy, 11:43:54 am, Sun, 01/27/08
