Please everyone...prayers are needed for Abby.......<br>Rick just talked to Chuck, and he said they have to have Abby PTS in the next day or so...she has cancer and it is completely all through her......I feel so bad, I haven't talked to Donna or Chuck in quite awhile..but Abby was my little sweetie..I helped housebreak her and babysat her when she was a pup....she is only going on six years old..... -- Piggy's Pad

Oh, Kate, this is horrible. I remember the pictures you used to post so long ago of Abby and Josie together and I know how much you cared for Abby. Such a very sad situation and Abby's so young to have developed cancer already. I remember (vaguely) that you had some problems with Abby's mom (didn't she turn out to be a real jerk?) but still, Abby was a special dog. Since there's apparently nothing that can be done because of the cancer, all I can do is offer prayers and ask that her passing over The Bridge be painless and that Abby goes to her final rest pain free. you are right, Abby's Mom is an A*ole...but I wouldn't wish this kind of pain and hurt on anyone.....I haven't talked to her since last year, she has waved to me but that is it...but if I see she is home when I get out of work, I will go over....I have to, I have to say goodbye to Abby if she is still there.... I went over as soon as I got home from work and here comes Abby to meet me, looking like there is nothing wrong...but then you watch her and listen to her breathing and yes, there is definitely something going on. The vet is 99.99% sure it's lymphoma and it's completely all through her, all her lymph nodes are swollen and her spleen. The took X-rays of her lungs and they are white...just completely full....They gave her a shot of steroids to help her breathe easier and once they get the final test results back they will make the final decison as to when...but Donna said it will be before the weekend....they don't want her to suffer.... Donna was "Donna" if you know what I mean...I'm sure she appreciated that I went over...but it's hard for her to admit it..but that's ok, it's her loss not mine...
I did what I wanted/needed to do..and that was say goodbye to Abby......and, even though Donna is the kind of person she is, I wouldn't stoop to her level, so I hugged her and told her if she needed anything that she knew where I was..I was always right next door just a knock on the door or a phone call away..... Oh Kate. I'm sorry I didn't see this yesterday. I am so sorry hon. I know how much you adore Abby. I'm glad you were able to say goodbye to her. So young to be going thru this too... Cancer SUCKS! I will light a candle for her, and say a prayer. She will be free from the pain soon, poor girl. Good for you for being the bigger person too.
