Subject: We're only supposed to reach 81 today, which is just plain beautiful for this time of year and about 10 degrees cooler than normal. So I'm going to take advantage of it and get a few errands taken care of before I head to the doctor's office. I need to drive past our service company's office and pick up a couple of furnace filters and I might try to fit in a haircut if I have the time. Other than that, I'm just glad to be able to give the a/c a much needed and deserved rest, if only for one day. The rest of the week isn't supposed to be too hot but we're heading back up the thermometer and by the weekend, back in the blast furnace. But today??? Nothing coming from Kansas but sighs of relief.
In reply to: Sandy 's message, "I'm not rubbing it in.........honestly, I'm not. But blessed relief has arrived, at least for a day. The cold front came through about 5 p.m. last evening --- at least that's when the wind direction changed. But it was still hot until about 9 when I noticed that it was cooler outside than inside, even though we still had the a/c going. So we opened windows and turned on the whole house fan. Oh, boy! It smelled and felt so good. All of the cats were in the windows, sniffing like crazy. I even left our bedroom window open last night, which is something I almost never do.........just too easy for someone to come along and crawl in, I guess. It was almost chilly in our room. And it was a gorgeous 65 degrees when I got up. Windows are open, fan is on, the car has been vacuumed out and cleaned and now I'm on my way to take a shower. I've got an appointment with the rheumatologist this afternoon." on 7:36:15 am, Wed, 07/11/07
