Subject: Oh, Denise, how sad. But at least Jaz is now home with you, where he belongs. I know what you mean about writing in the frost on the glass. I have fingerprints on my front storm door that no amount of cleaning with take off. But I'll bet that the next time the door frosts over and then starts to melt, you'll be able to see the heart. I can remember how sad I was when we got Squeegee's and Holly's ashes back. I felt comforted, in some strange way, having them back home but getting their ashes was like losing them all over again.
In reply to: Denise 's message, "It took longer than usual but Jaz is home, I got his ashes yesterday. The day he died I was letting the dogs out, it was cold so I had to wait at the door for them. The storm door was frosted over and I started doodling. I made a big heart and wrote JAZ in it. He died the 26th, so it's been there for quite awhile and I liked it. Yesterday not long after his ashes came home I noticed the frosted heart was gone, even when the frost diminished you could still see it (why your mother hated it when you did this as a kid!) It's gone gone, not a trace. The container his ashes came back in? A heart with his name." on 7:59:46 am, Thu, 02/14/08
