Subject: Denise do you have WXP service pack two installed? Have you upgraded to IE7? Some of the things needed to make flash player work......

Also including a link from Adobe that might offer some solutions. I went round and round trying to install a Flash Player at work, don't know what caused it to finally work but it did. When installing make sure there are no highlighted messages under the tool bar at the top of the page.
