Subject: I got a promotion at work! MSG

I've been promoted to Office Manager!

I will be in charge of the office... All receivables, expenditures, the works. I'll be formulating a budget, and will even be putting my boss on a salary! She said she is turning everything over to me, and as soon as we have a budget worked out, I'll be paying HER! She admits finances are her weak point, and I've been doing all the computer work and inputing clients, receipts, etc. for her these past 2 months. She hadn't done ANYTHING but throw all her expense receipts AND her receivables in a big box together!!! I spend most of my time trying to sort thru the mess! LOL

She cannot afford to give me a raise yet.... of which I'm all too aware since I've been working on sorting her expenses. She feels bad that she can't pay me what I deserve, so she is going to compensate me with a percentage of the business. I'll essentially be working toward partnership. This means once the business is on its feet financially, I'll be earning my salary plus a percentage of the profits.

I think one of my first duties as Office Manager will be to give Goose an official title as Community Relations Assistant. He does a very good job of helping me show new customers around the facilities! He is so funny too. When I show people (and dogs) the yard area and tell them this is the doggie bathroom, he immediately goes over to the fence and pees. He has to make sure they know exactly what that area is used for! LOL

My hours are increasing some.... and I may be putting in some hours to only go towards my percentage... I'm fine with that. She really needs the help, and I would rather put in a few hours for no pay than see her lose the business and me be completely out of a job!!!!

Big, big congratulations to you. Since you've been doing the work anyway, it's nice that you get the promotion and title and a percentage of the business.
