Subject: Yesterday wasn't nearly as warm and the sun played hide and seek most of the day. But about mid-afternoon, the cold front came through and we dropped from 73 down to 60. We even picked up another inch of rain last night, meaning that over the past 9 days, we gotten 6 inches. We're still so green here but today is chilly (about 54) and very gray. Ken and Jackie had driven to Omaha one day last week to go to the zoo and he said that the trees in Omaha are almost bare, where our trees are still green and still holding on to their leaves.
In reply to: Sandy 's message, "And on the way back home, we stopped at Lake Shawnee and toured the new Botanical Gardens that have been put in this year. So very beautiful with all of the color and it gives me all kinds of ideas for new flowers for new spring. Considering the day was so warm, windy and nice, there were very few people at the lake and only a couple of boats in the water. But it was great to walk the paths, sit on the benches and watch the ducks, geese and sea gulls. The lake was really choppy because of the wind but it made walking the gardens just about perfect." on 12:31:10 pm, Mon, 10/22/07
