Subject: Sorry guys.... busy and bad week.... msg.

I've worked every day this week except Tuesday. On Tuesday I ran errands, and Goose thought I was going to work without him, and got an upset belly and had diarrhea all over his crate/beds while I was gone. So on my only day off this week, I was scrubbing poo off his crate and washing bedding.

I had a severe allergic reaction to the flea/tic preventative I put on the dogs on Sunday... broke out in a horrible rash all over my face/neck Sunday night, and it's just finally starting to subside. I've had to work all week looking like I fell face-first into poison ivy.

Danny's dad was rushed to the ER yesterday, and the doctor's said another 2 minutes he would have been dead. On top of congestive heart failure, kidney failure, blood-sugar levels over 600... he has severe pneumonia and may have had a mild heart attack. We were at the hospital till really late last night. He's in ICU now.... but the doctor's have been honest and said his prognosis is not good.

I'm working again today, and tomorrow I'm supposed to play nurse for the spay/neuter clinic in the recovery room. I basically just have to watch all the animals in recovery and make sure they are doing ok post surgery. I also have a friend coming in from San Diego today to adopt one of my foster cats... We were going to go to lunch and celebrate my birthday, her new job, and Danny's getting a new job... !

I may have to cancel everything tho.... waiting to hear how Dad made it thru the night.

As for Danny's job.... he finally got called for a second interview at the Army base, and was offered the job. It's a pay cut, and the insurance premium TRIPLED, plus a $3000 deductible... but we need insurance. By the time all the deductions come out, it's about a 50% DECREASE in pay... but it's the only job offer he's gotten in almost 2 months, so I said TAKE IT.

This week has just been so busy/crazy.... and exhausting.... and I've been loading up on Benedryl for my hives/rash, so when I'm not working, I'm zombied out.

I didn't take any Benedryl last night in case the hospital called... didn't want to be zonked... so I'm itchy again today.

I'll keep you posted on my father-in-law.... would appreciate any prayers you can spare.

And sorry again for being so MIA. One of these days things will calm down, right?????????

We are still HOT here... in the 90's during the day... but at least it's cooling off at night. We're still running the a/c during the day tho.

Thanks, Vicki. I'm sure we're going to live now but boy, this crud is terrible. It's a week today and I feel worse now than I did when I first got it. Even Gerry's whole office has it! He felt bad enough yesterday that he took 1/2 the day off, came home and we coughed and sneezed and blew noses in stereo. We both finally got some sleep last night but I hate it when the minute you lie down, you start to gurgle, and then cough. My nose makes me look like Rudolph. And I've got to get better because I've just got too much to do this week. I've got to take Cricket to the vet, I need a haircut and I have my mammogram scheduled. Crazy. Boy, Vicki, it sounds like you have indeed had a horrible week. Any ONE of these things, on it's own, would have been bad enough but to pile them all on top of eachother...........WOW! First of all, prayers still coming for Danny's dad. It's hard, I know, to see him going through this. But you have the bright spot of Danny's job. Okay, the money's not great, the insurance is costly and the deductible is horrible............but it's a job. And for whatever reason, it's always easier to find a job when you already HAVE one. sorry to hear things are looking so bleak for your FIL....how is Danny handeling it? I hope he isn't in any pain and they are able to keep him comfortable....prayers for him and your whole family on the way....
That is good news on the job front for Danny...like Sandy said, it may be a cut in pay, but at least it is a paycheck..and also insurance....I hope it works out ok for him and that he likes it....and like Sandy said, he can always keep looking....Take care sweetie... HI V. I'm sorry your DIL is still having troubles. Sounds like he is dealing with a little of everything. Prayers for him. Glad Danny found work! NEver know, it may turn out better than you think or something else will come up. I'd never asked if you had a flea issue in AZ, thought maybe it was too dry and sandy to be a problem.
