Last week the guy who owns the car dealership in town called and asked if Micah (our huskie) could have a couple roomies. The story was: a guy lived in the country, couldn't afford heating the place last winter so moved in with his mother (in town) and left a small female lab and a german shep. male tied out at this other place. The guy that called me has been feeding them for months (and water). The rescue league knows the case but since this guy is feeding them, whenever they've checked it out the dogs are OK so they couldn't take them.

Well, supposedly this guy would let them go. We were thinking about it over the weekend. He called me this morning to say that the guy had found the lab a home, could we take the shepard? I said he would have to go to the vets first, checked for worms, shots given, heartworm check and neuter and THEN we would try to introduce him to Micah. The %@&$^# can't agree to neutering and Tim is too nice a guy to just give him heck but I told him I wouldn't take him unless he was fixed. Well, we got him to my vets where he will stay at least till Friday, longer if we can get him fixed and I don't know what to do about this guy. I WILL NOT take this dog or try to find him a home if butthead might come back and want him cause I wouldn't let him have him. I need to find out if I can get him to sign a paper of some sort that gives me ownership....

This guy who cars so much for this dog hasn't even given him a name!

Pray this all works out for the dogs best interest??? Thanks!

Whoa!!! The *owner* of these dogs left them tied up at a place he had moved from and depended on someone else to feed and water them?? Don't you just want to string some people up and torture them? What a huge mess. And why, if he hasn't even bothered to name the poor dog, is he refusing to give you permission to have the dog neutered? Yep, you need a paper signed, clearly giving you ownership so he can't renig and take the dog back. Oh, Denise, you have my prayers, good thoughts and fingers crossed that everything will work out for the dog's sake. Keep us posted on what's happening with this, okay? "Dog" is at my vets being boarded. The guy from here got him away from the owner, don't know how or what the deal was but the dog is not tied outside in the cold anymore. He was full of worms, got his shots and hopefully will leave his testicles there! The girls in the office say he is a really nice dog! Thanks! Keep him in your thoughts. What a jerk! SO sickening to know there are so many of his kind in this world. I think the paper thing would be a good idea. Get him to sign something.
