Subject: Vicki, I was hoping the news on your FIL would have been better than this. Again, ulcers are better than some other options but I've never even heard of ulcers in the small intestine. That's got to be rough......and hurt. I hope they can figure out a treatment for him that will heal the ulcers and allow him to go back home, healthy and happy. As for your adoption fair, phooey on the volunteers who said they would help and then didn't show. That's just not right. And the heat? Yuck. But even though it wasn't the greatest, at least 30 or more found homes. And THAT is nothing to sneeze at.
In reply to: V~ 's message, "Just got back from the hospital..... So far they've found several ulcers in dad's stomach and his small intestine. They are waiting on more tests. We're not sure what the treatment is going to be, or how bad they are. He's on a liquid diet till they get things figured out. He is tired, but his color is good.... he was gray from blood loss. Thanks for the prayers everyone!
As for the Adoption Fair..... it didn't go as well as we'd hoped. It was just too hot. We ended up having to move as many dogs as we could into the store and taking the rest back to the shelter. Saturday we had 32 adoptions, and not sure about today... they only had about 8 dogs at the store today. Only 1 of my volunteers showed up this morning, so I had to frantically call around for help. I will be taking a couple volunteers off my list. I can't schedule people I can't rely on! I'm happy tho, that at least 30+ critters found homes!
