I've sent 2 phones swimming over the years..... one fell out of my pocket into the toilet at work years ago, and the other went swimming at the beach this summer. I haven't seen the phone yet..but he ended up getting the LG8350...which is an upgrade from the one we had....
his biggest complaint is the phones are too small and smooth....and with his hands being bigger and rough they slide right out of them!! I asked him how this phone was..and he said it's "smaller and smoother" so he still isn't much of a happy camper..but unfortunately that seems to be the way the phone are made!! I've never heard of "ruggedized" Vicki....I didn't go with him but it doesn't sound like they had anything like that at the store when he went yesterday....
I checked out his phone last night (love is new ringtones!!! and display is a little larger than mine) but the phone itself is definitely smoother and smaller..plus it doesn't have an attena so there is just nothing for him to grab it with....I wear mine clipped to my jeans when I'm outside, he doesn't like that, he wants it in his pocket!!
