I could use a few good thoughts for Cricket and Biscuit. As soon as Gerry comes home from work, we're taking both of them to the vet. Cricket needs another depo-medrol shot and Biscuit is overdue for his final distemper shot in his kitten series. I didn't want to have them giving him any shots when he was sick with that intestinal thing so we're just going to get that taken care of now. But then, no more shots, except for Cricket, of course. I don't foresee any problems but just a good thought or two would be appreciated. -- Piggy's Pad

BTW, pool wasn't the best last night. We only took 2 matches out of 5 and I ended up playing last, which is my least favorite slot to fill. Out of 6 games, I only won one but this guy's handicap is twice mine and I've known him forever, so I wasn't surprised when he just wiped the table up with me. But at least we were home and in bed by 11:30. Still, that's way too late for me and I did go back to bed this morning for a short while.......until the dratted phone started ringing. Janet just never remembers that she should NOT EVER call me on a Wednesday morning. But this time, she was at the Verizon store to buy a new phone and wanted to know what we had. Rick is over being "mad" at himself and the new phone, and now he is finding a few things on this one that he likes better than the one he had....Now I want a new one!! I'm glad Rick has forgiven himself for what happened with his phone. I'm still very happy with our new phones (the 8600's) but I had the chance to play with Travis's new phone and it's so totally neat!!! Apparently there's an old Chocolate and now, a new Chocolate. Punkie and Travis got the new ones and they're so cool. My phone is about the size of a credit card where her's is longer and thicker. I think they're a great choice if you want to use your phone for music. Especially for Travis, who's officially only a pre-teen for another month, loves his. But for heaven's sake, they pick up texting so quickly. I can type like a bandit on a good day but still have to use the "hunt and peck" method to text..........so I don't do it. Hang in there, Kate. By the time you're ready for your "new every two," Verizon is going to have come out with a whole new batch of phones and you're going to have so many neat choices. This technology moves so fast, it's unreal. I still think that in a few years, we're going to be able to do just about anything we want with our phones. And computers? Nawwww. They're going to be in our phones too. That may be the only time I have to learn to text..........unless they put a keyboard port/plugin on the side of a phone. Can you just see that? LOL. I'm going to do my best to hang in there Sandy...but gees, you start looking and you can't help but want a new one!! I don't even see the 8600's listed anymore...now it's an 8700!! I was looking at the Chocolate's they do really look neat..but maybe a little more than I'd need...I don't think I'd be doing the music thing with the phone....I'm thinking, just for the heck of it, the next time I get near a Verizon store I'm going to check them out.... I'm not eligible for the "new every two" but I am eligible for an early upgrade with discounting prices....thank heaven's Rick was eligible for this too....so guess it wouldn't hurt for me to look...the weird thing is now the contract on his phone is good through 2009 but the contract on mine is up in 2008!!!

I'm the same way, Kate. Waiting those last few months to get to my "new every two" date took forever. And since Gerry never wanted to stop by the store and look, I'd wait for a day when I had the car and stop in then to look and touch.........LOL! Rick is FINALLY happy with his new phone..he was just so grumpy and mad at himself the first day or so, that it took him awhile to get around to admitting he liked it...
now for me, that is probably not the phone I'd choose...just at looking at the website I'd probably go with the 8700, possibly the Chocolate (they've got some absolutely beautiful colors now...) but I'm not quite sure about the Chocolate..I've got to see one in person before I'd go as far as ordering it!!

Yesterday afternoon was NOT good and now I'm down and scared. Biscuit made out just fine. The vet is very impressed with his body structure (says he's very wiry and lean, but obviously well fed) and his intestines now feel totally normal. He's up to 5 1/4 pounds and they just love his personality. He was jumping down from and back up to the exam table and checking the room out. I got a bunch of wonderful pictures yesterday of Cricket, Snowy and Biscuit in the cat tree together and even got one or two of the top of Biscuit's head so you can see the gray smudge. Now it's just a matter of uploading them to the computer and then sending them to Vicki in hopes she can post them for me. (NT) -- Sandy, 7:57:24 am, Thu, 09/27/07
But we've been watching a lump in between Cricket's shoulder blades for the past 6-7 weeks or so. They discovered this lump the first time we took Cricket in to them. Anyway, it's growning and seems to be attached very deeply to the muscle/body structure underneath. We have a bit of time........it's not something that has to be done tomorrow. And we need some time to come up with the money to get this thing removed/biopsied since they quoted us about $300. I just keep thinking that Cricket should really get a break on this. He's had so many problems with this stomatitis crap and as long as we keep his mouth healthy with the depo-medrol shots, he's healthy, happy, playful and talking. I DO know that if it's cancer, I won't put him through chemotherapy. Not after what we went through with Squeegee. It doesn't help that I'm tired, cranky and have a huge headache. Gerry and I both had fasting blood work at the lab this morning (hence, no cigarette and no coffee) and he has his wrist X-rayed. Just the wait until the lab opens is rough when you can't get any coffee or breakfast and I can't take my medications. By the time we went out for breakfast afterwards, we both had headaches. Aw...gees, this is just not fair to Cricket!! The poor guy has already been through so much, I'm with you, he definitely deserves a break!!! I don't blame you on not going the chemo route with him....
