Awww, darn it all anyway! We were both sure you'd cave in and come home with a new phone. I prefer a flip myself although the new Chocolates do slide up and down to protect the keys when not in use. I asked Punkie this morning about their phones. She *did* get the music package for Travis, although she can use it on her phone too. But Travis will be a teenager in a month. I don't need music on my phone either.......I just need a good phone that works as a phone!! I wouldn't want to use it to listen to music while I'm walking because I'd rather listen to the wind, the birds, whatever. Besides, if you're listening to music, you can't be totally aware of your surroundings and in today's world, whether you live in a city or rural area, that's so important. I went shopping tonight and Wal-Mart was really quiet so I had a chance to really look over the phones and kind get the feel for them. Well they had a LG Chocolate...they are adorable!! But, for me, I don't think it's the best choice..I like the flip where most everything is protected when it's closed....I can definitely see where the Chocolate would be great for a kid with the music part though.....

Vicki, our phones don't have a headset jack per se, but they do have a slot for a headset adapter and then you plug the headset into that. And our phones are super thin. But here again, when I'm on the phone, I prefer to sit down and talk on the phone. Multi-tasking is great but I like to give the person I'm talking to my full attention. So yeah, we have our phones, the headset adapter and a headset. Have I used it yet? Nope. And I don't know that I will, at least not until I can find a headset that goes over the head. I'm usually holding an animal or having to let dogs in or out, so I could not live without my headset! I need my hands free when I'm talking, and if I tuck the phone against my shoulder, it's off to the chiropractor for me! I have a Plantronics over-the-head headset that works on my cell and on my land-line phone. Now THAT'S the kind of headset I need. But I need one with a good volume control on the ear. My left ear, which is the one I use on the phone, is okay, but my right ear has a pronounced hearing loss. And I've learned, like you, that it's hard, if not impossible, to cradle a cell phone on your shoulder. Takes my neck out instantly. Sandy, here's a link to the one I have. I also have some hearing loss from a very bad ear infection as a child. This one has volume control and a mute button right on the cord. It has great voice quality.

Ran to the store this morning and got to see a LG8700....gees, is it thin!!!! I kind of liked it, but I'm just not sure of it, so I'm holding off for now for sure....I don't worry about the headset thing..I've got the bluetooth and that kind of fits over my ear and not "in" it..so it's really comfortable. As I said before, if I'm going to be on the phone for any length of time (when I talk to my Aunt) I always use the bluetooth..otherwise I just can't hold the phone up to my ear that long..... LOL. I love the way you put that, Kate.......that the extra money is kind of burning a hole in your pocket. I get that way sometimes too when my $20 per week from the grocery shopping debit starts adding up. I've got about $120 tucked away right now and I usually refer to that as my rug hooking money. I try hard now not to spend it all, since I have all of my equipment and wool, etc. But I'm already thinking ahead to the big hook-in in February in Lenexa. For THAT, I try to have about $400 tucked away. I feel like a little old woman with cash tucked away in an old sock.
