Subject: Had a really great time on Saturday! Our friend met us at the beach with a birthday cake for Danny. Was an awesome day except for one little incident............. msg

At one point we leashed up our puppers and had our friend Jacob (he just came back from Iraq and went with us to the beach) hold them while Danny and I walked over to the bathrooms. When we got back, and were within about 15 feet of where we were hanging out, Jacob let Goose go to come meet us.

Well, evidently my boy didn't recognize me as I'd donned a jacket. He nosed Danny for half a second and then BOLTED for the parking lot! I guess he thought I'd gotten lost. Goose is a wee bit attached to his mama, and he tends to react in a panic if he can't find me.

Danny and I were both yelling, and Danny took off after him. I walked over and sat down with our other friends thinking my boys would be right back..... After a few minutes tho, NO Danny and NO Goose!

So I went trekking back up the hill and saw Danny way the hell on the other end of the parking lot going up the street. No Goose in sight. I swear I had a heart attack! I walked up and down the top of the hill looking all up and down the beach and parking lot seeing if I could spot him, yelling his name, while Danny ran the parking lot and street.

Our friend Jacob came to help when neither of us came back. He ran the other direction from Danny. Luckily Goose must have been on his way back to the beach.... Jacob had to do a swoop and grab as Goose raced by him.

My poor Goose looked so panicked! I think I had the same expression on my face tho! When he spotted me it was like OH THANK GOD MOMMY!!! He didn't leave my side much the rest of our stay. He laid down next to me or at my feet. He investigated a couple of dogs that came close, but he stayed VERY close to his Mama.

I swear my hair is the same color as his now tho!!!
