What a beautiful morning. It's only 50 degrees and there's not a cloud in the entire state. The stars were so bright this morning, I felt like I could reach out and touch them. It's supposed to warm up later and get close to 80 but I'm sure enjoying these cooler mornings right now. And the cats love them. They sniff and snort at the open windows. We had a bit of a scare last night. As we were leaving Travis' football game (which they won 18-0, BTW) I checked my phone and had a missed call from my neighbor. She left a voice mail so I checked it and she was asking if one of our cats was outside. I called Gerry right away but he was already at the Legion for his meeting so I called Roxanne back. From her description of the cat, it's wasn't one of mine. Thank God. We're always counting noses and making sure that no one makes it out the door but mistakes and accidents do happen. So after that scare, we decided to make an evening of it............Punkie, Travis and I went to the Olive Garden for dinner.........my treat. We had a wonderful time and it was nice to spend time with just Punkie and Travis so we could talk. But I get a little sad to see how fast Travis has grown. It's hard to believe that in 3 weeks, he's going to be 13 already............and I still remember babysitting for him when he was a baby. Where has the time gone??? YIKES! That's one of my biggest fears.... especially after Sebastian got out and was killed. I am pretty diligent, but unfortunately Danny is not. I'm constantly having to remind him to look for cats before coming in and out! Luckily, most of ours have outgrown trying to run out.... altho Callie Anne still gets a bee up her bum every so often. Still hot here, maybe tonight it will cool down. We set a record yesterday with 89 degrees. I'd love to set a record by jumping in my pool now!! Glad one of the kitties didn't get out.
