Subject: Then we went out to dinner at the Longhorn, since I had a coupon for $5 off my dinner, plus a coupon they sent me via email for a free dessert. I'd been unable to come up with any ideas for a birthday gift (it's nice when your husband has taken such good care of you that you can't come up with a single thing that you need or want) so Gerry then took me across the street to the Verizon store and we bought extended batteries for our phones. Mine will be my birthday gift and I'll hold his until his birthday, in another month, and his will be his birthday gift. I only came up with the battery idea because I've found that if I talk to you and my sister in the same day, it kills my battery. And since our cell phones are our only phones..........well, the extra battery power will be worth it.
In reply to: Sandy 's message, "Kate, thank you, thank you, thank you. The card arrived yesterday (such a surprise!) and, of course, your email came in last night. So far, it's been a wonderful weekend. After getting pouring rain early Saturday morning, which we needed badly, it turned out sunny, breezy and beautiful. Gerry and I went out to visit a few of the houses on our Parade of Homes. Such beauty..........and such high prices! I fell in love with one.........they called it the New Old House. The builder used a lot of reclaimed lumber for the floors and trim. The floors were so beautifully distressed and the house itself called to me. The price was (only!) $359,000.00 and if we'd won the lottery last night...........!" on 11:04:59 am, Sun, 10/14/07
