Subject: Just got home from the vet with the new kitten as he was showing signs of a URI......... msg.

I've been concerned cuz the baby has not done much but sleep. I attributed it to his injuries, but then last night and this morning he wouldn't eat. Late morning he started showing signs of a snotty nose, so I called for an emg. vet appt. Sure enough, beginnings of a URI.

He's on Clavamox (antibiotic) and Viralys (in case it's feline herpes), then a recheck in 2 weeks.

He tested negative for FeLV and FIV, also tested negative for parasites on his fecal. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's already stopped limping from his injuries! Hopefully once we get his URI cleared up, he'll be bouncy and playful and driving everyone crazy! ;D

Oh, and the little dude has a name now, since I had to tell them something at the vet. His given name will be Eli Tobias.... Toby for short.

I'm so glad to hear that he's feeling better today and it's great that you were so on top of it and were able to get him in to the vet so quickly. Not sure yet........ it depends on him. He's not liking any of the other cats very much, and I don't want him unhappy here. Time will tell I guess. How did he get injured in the first place V? If you have time check out Traumeel. It's a homeopathic for injury, bruising, strain and works very well. I've used it and it's helped back aches better than any prescribed med. A couple days of meds and I bet he's feeling better already! (NT) -- Denise, 5:36:26 am, Fri, 08/17/07
He supposedly fell off a table.... but the woman also said her 2 y.o. daughter was being way too rough on him, so that might have caused it too. He was fine after a couple days of limited activity tho. He has no pain issues at all now. (NT) -- V~, 4:36:50 pm, Fri, 08/17/07
